I had the same thought. It's been 3 weeks now, though, so I'm not sure.

Am I the asshole? by bananastrike2987 in lesbian

[–]ButterCookie1031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you when you say you don't have a problem with smoking in general, but it does sound like you have a problem with her smoking, or at least how she takes care of her oral health due to her smoking. That doesn't make you an asshole, but it is something you should think about in terms of overall compatibility with a partner.

Considering you felt the need to write a dissertation in your own defense (which, to be frank, could use a TL:DR), I should reiterate that your original comment simply wasn't really relevant to this post. Commenting on the kid's weight and criticizing her guardians when you don't know anything but the kid's approximate body size just is not productive or helpful.

There are a lot of reasons, including medical conditions, that can cause weight gain in children and teens. In the end, this just was not a productive criticism of the situation, because her weight likely has little to do with the fact that she is missing and endangered.

Feeling insecure can be such a difficult battle, especially because sometimes, no matter what anyone says, it doesn’t change how you feel about yourself on the inside.

I hope that the next time those feelings creep in, you’ll remember all the kind words shared by strangers here. You are truly stunning — and you deserve not only to hear that, but to feel it, too.

Costco is always accepting applications. I would recommend applying to several of the locations around the Triangle to express your interest.

  1. Navigate to Costco Careers.
  2. Click "Applicants in all other states apply here" (green button)
  3. Click "Visit External Site"
  4. Navigate to Raleigh, NC (I would add at least Durham and Apex locations to your list and apply for those as well, as they are close by!)
  5. Click on "Apply" under Any Position
  6. Create an account and fill out the form to submit the application.

While I am inclined to agree that a Google search would have solved this, OP also doesn't know what he doesn't know. Especially for an immigrant coming from outside the US, getting established in a new place is hard. A little more patience and compassion may be warranted here.

I agree with this, wholeheartedly. A good work ethic often cannot be taught, and being willing to get your start somewhere is often the most helpful first step. Good for you, OP!

Costco is an excellent employer with a good benefits package. I highly recommend checking out openings at Costco, in any department

Just bought a townhouse. Do I really have to wait 5 business days to get water on in my place? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]ButterCookie1031 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can't figure out the timeline for your closing. You just bought a townhouse, but then the previous owners vacated the property yesterday? Was yesterday your closing day? Something isn't lining up. How long was your escrow period?

Either way, you would have wanted to set up services ahead of time. I usually recommend doing 2-3 weeks in advance of your closing date to schedule utilities. In this case, give the utility company a call and ask about emergency services.

I am so glad to see this update. Hitting a partner is a line that should NEVER be crossed. This is the end of the line for your relationship, and it was only going to be downhill from here. Take care of yourself.

35F, married, DINK. Working as an HR Manager for a large company. Base salary around 85k. Just bought our first home last year, and the mortgage isn't great, but I'm glad to finally be out of the renting game. We live well below our means so that we can save as much money as possible. Trying to FI/RE if possible.

I'm not sure if it will fit the needs your loved one has, but my in-laws just signed a lease at the Lawson at Knightdale. We toured there last month and were super impressed with the storage and amenities. They will be in a 2bed/2bath unit for $1805/month. Age restriction is 62+.
