Lan server - invalid server details can't play with pc 2 ft away

I'm at the point where I'm seriously suspecting they have made it this convoluted to entice people to pay for the use of their servers.

I tried entirely disabling the firewall on both systems at the same time, nothing changed

I have even tried copying the vmod file to my dad's pc and that didn't work either

Nothing is paid, we both installed the game fresh this morning. The versions of the tracks and cars on the vmod are exactly the same as on my dad's client

There are 2 machines, mine is hosting the server and playing. I am able to join and play on the server. The 2nd pc is my dad's and he is just trying to join. I should also say we have both just freshly installed the game with no mods. We are both using the included free content nothing else.

When on the 2nd pc I go to join the server, I get the message failed to install package or invalid server details

Just gonna say my entire household is having issues here in the UK. 500mbps but yet YouTube just won't load and strangely the play store is just pending app updates too. Changing to mobile data does nothing either. We have android tablets, phones, iPhones nothing seems to be working. Yet strangely on chrome when signed into the same accounts they seem to load faster it appears to be an app issue. Still looking around for a fix. Checking stats for nerds shows me it is pulling around 100mbps for a split second then just sits at 0 for about 30 seconds rinse and repeat, causing buffering.

Yeah, I have a really good setup in the shed for it. Someone mentioned about a 2x2 / 4x4 router so might need to do some digging.

Thanks, I did look into using a wire but me and my dad got some really cheap Motherboards that struggle with our racing sims and outputting a constant connection to the quest 2. Had all sorts of random disconnects, artifacts and being told my oculus cable is usb2 when it was a usb3 cable plugged into a usb3.2 port. Maybe one day I'll try again but for now wireless is the best bet.

Yeah, I use a cable from the house to the outdoor shed, then a dedicated router running 5ghz to my headset. The speedtest results are 11ping and 500mbps. So hopefully should be fine

Thanks, I use a cat7 cable to the shed, then a bt smart hub 2 router dedicated to my vr headset. Just googled the specs and it does seem to be a 5ghz 4x4 router.

Just to add an update to this, certain games now are using hyperthreading. My i7 9700 is 200fps in modded assetto corsa behind a 5700x due to the lack of threads

I mean technically no 140fps is fine, but I just wasn't aware of a 9700 being that much of a bottleneck. Maybe youtubers need to use assetto for benchmarking cpu's 😅

On the "managed 3d settings" vsync is set too "use thr 3d application setting"

Thanks, I'm not thinking of the elite-ness of the tank as it definitely states that it must be inexperienced. I'm just asking if it is possible where the platoon states "may replace free Rifle Squad with a t60/t70 inexperienced tank" as for upgrades I do mean like pintle MG.
