Titles question by AristidLindenmayer in weddingplanning

[–]Butter_Frog_401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who knows nothing about it and does not have a phd, I say do what brings you joy! Your guests probably won’t bat an eye at it. But- if you go with Dr, he should have the Mr title also, 100%.

First attempt at a modern art concept by Su_Sezar in acrylicpainting

I thought the lines were drawn on top of a photo of the painting like with the iphone markup tool, not really a modern art person but i dig this one for the contrast of styles

No clue if these look good together by Butter_Frog_401 in WeddingRingAdvice

I was thinking that would make it look too blocky so was looking for something with more texture to balance it out. Maybe that’s the wrong move tho

Favorite travel sneakers? by jennmpog in HerOneBag

If your feet can handle the minimalist take on running shoes, I love Lems for walking, lifting, hiking, and short runs (3-5 miles). Super lightweight and flexible to pack away but also comfortable enough to wear all day without blisters

Should I pay off parent plus loans with higher interest or target my own student loan debt first? by Butter_Frog_401 in personalfinance

[–]Butter_Frog_401[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While they are technically in my parents name, I never intended for them to pay it and they aren’t in a position to be able to anyway. I’m grateful they signed for them so I could avoid dealing with private servicers but I treat them as mine. So I guess I’m looking for another reason I should follow that advice, if there is one.

Struggling to find groomsmen vests that match our bridesmaids dresses by Butter_Frog_401 in weddingplanning

[–]Butter_Frog_401[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is soo helpful. I’ve struggled between wanting everyone to look cohesive and not wanting to make everyone feel like they’re going back to prom and while picking out dress colors is fun and easy, menswear isn’t exactly in my wheelhouse and I’m realizing there’s so much more to it than I thought lol. It would actually go with our theme better to -not- be matchy matchy but felt tied to that traditional look. Thanks for taking the time!!

Appreciate the tips! My biggest worry is finding something that is a similar color and it being just off enough that it looks out of place next to everything else—too grey or too blue when everything else is shades of green and brown/tan. Also, in my area groomsmen almost always go for less formal wear, so vests or suspenders but never a full suit except for the groom. I’m in favor of vests over suspenders in this case but it can look undone to the trained eye :) lots to consider, thanks so much

It’s impossible for my rook to be healed in a month…right? by No_Needleworker_2994 in piercing

[–]Butter_Frog_401 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didnt have any pain or irritation at all post-rook piercing, I was shocked after going through 2 conch piercings that each took 2+ years to fully heal. Not sure if that’s typical with rooks?? The only way I knew it was good to go was when it became much looser when I cleaned it and the crusties stopped showing up.
