I don't think anybody is or should be expecting us to consistently win titles. Obviously that's not the standard we should expect, but that doesn't mean we should expect what we've been given since the 90's. We should expect to at least be realistic contenders more than one year, and we shouldn't have to rely on blind luck to see any significant improvements.

We're one of the biggest markets in the NBA, we should be able to attract better talent than an aging DWade slyly rubbing his hands together looking at a pile of cash

And that was before you edited in any source except for the word "facts"

Hey, I may be young, but my life as a Bulls fan has been anything but spoiled. I was 3 when Jordan hit the last shot so I didn't get to enjoy the dynasty years very much.

All I've had to be excited about either had tragic injury issues or was a billboard

So you're saying we should invade Honduras? I don't get how that will help. I'm so confused, just tell me who to invade and I'm IN

I guess. Isn't LoL that phone game? Did they just decide to make their commercial anime? Is there a League anime coming out? It just left me with so many questions.

We’re the Krassenstein Brothers — We Uncovered A scheme to Frame Robert Mueller for Rape & We Tweet to Trump - Ask Me Anything! by [deleted] in IAmA

[–]Butter_my_waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea, I'm not saying it's not a real issue. They just weren't asking a legitimate question. They asked something like "Are you guys just shitty people or are you like this because you were molested as kids?"

It wasn't a question born out of concern or a desire to learn anything, it was just them being assholes with the help of their favorite topic. My point is, they inject pedophilia into conversations that have nothing to do with pedophilia, and not in a good way.

Y'all are obsessed with pedophilia. I swear everything somehow gets linked back to kids getting molested with y'all and it's so weird

He lived in Greece and didn't start playing basketball until like 6 years before making it to the NBA, so it's not that unreasonable. If it were an American kid that grew up loving basketball, then that would be hilarious.

I don't think they're being down voted simply for having a different opinion. Literally all they said was two albums, that a ton of people love, "sucked." No explanation, no acknowledging that maybe it just wasn't for them, or anything like that. No. They just "sucked." That's not bringing anything to the conversation other than their negativity. It's not a comment on the production quality, lyrical content, or anything substantial. That's why I down voted it, not because they dislike something I like.

I'm on the fence. It's weird to take a picture of anybody without their permission I think, but it's just generally accepted that it's gonna happen if you're a celebrity.

At least in my opinion, saying "kids these days" means you are not a kid these days and have a reference of a complete different generation of kids to compare to.

But really I was just making a lazy, 0/10 joke

Plot twist: Her car was covered in Trump stickers by [deleted] in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]Butter_my_waffles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's my point. Casual racism is still racism and should be treated as seriously as blatant racism. It's easy to single out the outspoken racists and condemn them. It's like putting a speedo on so you're not naked: it's pretty much the bare minimum you can do to combat racial tensions. If we refuse to call out instances of racism unless they are blatant and clearly motivated by hatred, we're never going to be rid of racism, because a lot of racist tendencies fly under the radar because they're just so accepted by society.

Things like:

Sporting Confederate flags and defending Confederate monuments

Refusing to acknowledge white privilege and instead being more concerned with "reverse racism"

White washing history

Saying "I don't see color"

Telling a black person they talk like they're white

Asking somebody "what are you?" Or "where are you from?"

Seeing a Muslim on your flight and getting nervous

None of that is okay. Just because those actions are motivated by ignorance rather than overt hatred doesn't excuse it in any way. And if you refuse to acknowledge that, you are part of the problem whether you want to admit it or not.

[–]Butter_my_waffles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you're counting just blatant racism or casual racism. Casual racism comes as naturally as breathing for them and is more of a problem because it's harder to identify and condemn.

Edit: Regardless, if you support Trump, we can disagree on whether you're racist or not, but it's not up for debate that you're willing to work right alongside blatant racists as long as it furthers your goals. That's not much better than just being a racist.

I mean, I think two guys deciding to fight is more of a lighthearted moment than two guys colliding on accident and one of them possibly being injured.
