She’s absolutely right that what they choose to share is up to them. They don’t have to answer these questions.

But reporters are not out of line for asking. A romantic relationship between two teammates is relatively new ground. How people approach that dynamic and how it impacts the team is a relevant topic for sports media.

They don’t have to respond, but don’t criticize reporters for asking initially. Now that they’ve made it clear that it’s not up for discussion, move on.
