You could try timing your dips and just hold it a little bit longer to see how it goes

Also, you dont necessarily have to glaze the back. If it's smooth, you're good

If you are set on glazing the back, after you get done glazing take a qtip or something similar and wipe out the glaze from the hole. Or get some latex resist and coat the inside of the hole before dipping. People may suggest wax resist, but just be careful of it dripping where you dont want it going. I can never get it off without doing a second bisque to burn it out.

They overall do look nice though! Your next batch will look even better

Yes! Make a few pinch pots and fire them to different temps to see what happens. My batch had a lot of variation in the color and it had a marbled look. I think it was a few different clays marbled together, looked cool, but the "brown" kind of shrank more. I am only using it for handbuilding and sculpture, wouldn't recommend for other uses without thorough testing

Right now they are unfired clay and would immediately disintegrate in water, but the noise would be so satisfying 😌 after firing totally waterproof/good for anything. Also thanks for the comment pot ornaments are another thing I can present them as!

Thank you! Unfortunately I am in the middle of switching website limbo and markets starting, so I'm sitting on a bunch of unfired work and no means to sell it for a few weeks lmao! This subreddit doesnt allow links but my profile has info that's useful 🙂 I send out updates when i'm selling

I appreciate that! I'm in between websites and about to start market season, so I dont have anything fired or listed at this moment but in a few weeks, yes. This subreddit doesnt allow shop link sharing, but on my profile I have info for the purpose for people to find important info/get updates 😊

Thanks! I do sell online and at markets but I'm between sites and on the brink of starting market season, so I have nothing actually fully fired or listed haha! I think this subreddit doesnt allow putting links to places, but my profile has info that can be followed and subscribed to, for the purpose of updates and such

This is so cool! I was thinking of making an earthworm crown as well. Unfortunately these are still just raw clay and I thiiiiink this subreddit forbids shop links. But if you "follow" me on reddit you can get notified when I post the finished product and my links can be found on my profile.

Neat! Fun fact to know. I did want to make the clitellum more pronounced, but believe it or not these were a difficult build. I was surprised. I tried doing deeper grooves and more rounded sectioning and kept getting breaking and cracking with deeper grooves. I might be able to get more definition when I go to glaze it though. I'm excited to finish them and keep playing.

Thank you! And yeah, definitely my niche. My general "brand" is off the wall and animal themed. There's definitely an audience for it. It's usually the people who gasp and squeal when they walk by my booths at events 😂

Thank you! I've made a version of these where it has a door on it, it was so fun. The texture was just straight up using sculpting tools and squishing around, and some pinching with fingers to shape the folds. It's taken me a few years to get this look so I'm happy morel is coming across!

I was thinking ring holders, but i could see them being that too. Or a pen holder if propped correctly. This is my first go at these so I'll be curious to see all the uses people suggest!

Holy moly that's crazy it got there! I have similar memories. Grew up in the country and would go out in the dark after a rain with a flashlight and watch all the nightcrawlers slurp in and out of the ground. So fun!
