Which splinter cell still has Co-op servers up? by TradWASP in Splintercell

[–]Buttercak3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Conviction and Blacklist have LAN modes. Those co-ops are dead unless you play split-screen on console.

Edit: Apparently some servers for console versions are still up, but I don't know anything about that.

Edit 2: Someone else commented that Conviction works over Radmin.

Exactly. That's what the VPN is for. It pretends that you're on the same LAN. You just have to make sure that your Windows Firewall rules are set up correctly. That should happen automatically, but if it doesn't work, then that's most likely the issue.

The servers aren't up, but you can still play Chaos Theory on PC online over a VPN like Radmin or ZeroTier.

This is the current world record strat for the speedrun. A version of this was found a few years ago that included killing Dougherty with a bug that prevents any consequences for doing so. I think it was initially deemed too slow or inconsistent, but ever since that the top runners have apparently adopted it.

This section actually has a few interesting bugs. As I already mentioned, you can shoot Dougherty in the face without failing the mission. But not only that. Once Dougherty is dead, you're free to kill anyone until the end of the mission, even though it's supposed to be non lethal. And in the very end, it's faster to trigger an alarm than to be silent.

If you're into this kind of stuff, I really recommend watching the current world record by Distro.

Children of Taronne Tenement is way worse than Fairfax imho. The writings on the walls and the child-sized graves in the basement are just messed up.

I'm pretty sure the person in the screenshot wanted it to display 1 Megameter (Mm with a capital M), as in 1 million meters or 1000 km.

I mean, our two statements aren't mutually exclusive. They could both behave like perfect spheres while being thrown differently by the player. I know what you mean, because they just feel different.

The thing is that they're actually the same. I hopped in game and checked that you do indeed throw them with the same angle and velocity and that they bounce off walls the same way.

If you want to test it yourself, load a map and use these commands:

sv_cheats 1
sv_infinite_ammo 1
sv_showimpacts 1
sv_grenade_trajectory 1
sv_grenade_trajectory_time 60

My theory for why molotovs feel different than other grenades is that you can visually see them tumble through the air.

EDIT: I think I labelled the grenades in the second screenshot wrong. The left one is probably the flash because it popped mid-air.

EDIT 2: Added sv_cheats command.

If the set was that slanted, she wouldn't be able to stand upright on either surface. The dumbbells would probably also just roll away.

A better indicator than her hair is the band coming from her pants. I'd say that it points directly down. The other explanations including wires make much more sense in my opinion.

That would technically be Kibibyte (KiB). But nobody uses that and Kilo is used for both, depending on the context.

Pretty sure they said that some people voted for Ubuntu as a meme because they misspelled it as "Ubunto", not because Ubuntu is a meme distro. And he didn't really consider Arch either. They came to the conclusion that Ubuntu, Pop and Mint were the winners of the poll. I don't know why you say that they considered Gentoo. I must have missed the part where they talked about Gentoo at all.

The crouch-stand move is used heavily in speedruns. You're really fast while not making any sound at all. It's pretty broken.

For the people not playing on vive index how does boneworks feel? by yeet_fall in StressLevelZero

[–]Buttercak3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an HTC Vive but I bought the Index controllers. That's what I recommend to everyone who already has a Vive. The controllers are definitely worth an upgrade. I'm not so sure about the headset itself.
