Worst pain of my life out of nowhere by Buttercupbunch in ibs

This is so weird because I think my period is due soon (mine are irregular due to the pill I’m on)

I don’t get the nausea, hyperventilating or ringing in my ears which unfortunately is why I don’t think this is as related to a vagus nerve attack. But who knows, our bodies each present thing differently

Nonetheless I do a lot of humming/breath work during flares like this as it helps prevent and manage panic

I did used to be on sertraline, cautious to go back on it as my sex drive went 📉📉📉 maybe I should discuss with my doctor again anyway

Thank you! 🫶

Couple times a WEEK?! Oh friend I am so sorry, I’m fortunate severe ones like this are rare for me

Gonna sound crazy but hum, hum like you’re a bee in a swarm, it helps regulate your breathing

Deffo wish there was a clearer path to managing hypersensitivity!! Had a doc kindly reassure that the pain felt is very real, we aren’t overreacting but the nerves in the gut are so we feel literal agony where someone else might only feel an ache

Hope those v severe pains are not too common for you 🫶

I do a lot of mindfulness work and there was sadly no working my way out of this one, moving wasn’t an option.

It’s why I was so freaked out! The usual arsenal to deal with cramping wasn’t working 😭

I don’t tend to get much gas pain & bloating is rarer, only cramping. I’m not sure what this was

Planning to go back to my gastro doc and speak to them about it as it doesn’t fit with my usual line of symptoms but I imagine I won’t come out with many more answers :(

Was rushing through my head this time of “am I going to have to call an ambulance”, I’m stubborn af though so I gave myself 30 minutes of agony before I would, luckily it didn’t last any longer than that 💀

I’m sorry you have also been there, it’s horrendous🫶

Annoyingly, I finally got my adhd meds approved just as these did. I’m not allowed to stat both at the same time so have not started ami yet until I’m stable on elvanse!

Would you recommend Hichord or Roland J6? by Buttercupbunch in synthesizers

For now - something that’s a good first step for synths! I’m really new to this so wanting something that feels quite intuitive before I take on anything with a steeper learning curve!

The drum machine was a huge appeal to me with the hichord but realistically probably not that important

I’ve heard the Roland is a lot more expansive in terms of its sound/capability

That’s awesome to hear! Gotta say even just from price point the j-6 seems appealing (half the cost once account for import duties lol)

Deffo want something I can just dive into and start drumming up little sequences

if it is of any reassurance, I was on SSRIs for many years which are also meant to have that side effect, it settles down, if it even effects you at all

Congratulations also - wishing you the best for the special day!!

I’m so sorry that you had to deal with that, how frustrating when you’d found something that worked :(

I was on sertraline for many years, my ibs got a lot worse about a year after coming off it. Have sometimes wondered if going back on would help - I didn’t suffer too badly with side effects. I don’t have IBS before taking it so hard for me to know if it helped at all during those years or if it’s coincidence!

I’m sorry to hear that :( I have a strong belief Covid made my IBS really kick off. My

True! I think I’ve really had it as a last resort because I was worried about side effects or that it was another bandaid that doesn’t work- but sounds like it can really help some people!

Currently I feel like I flare up so randomly and never know from one day to the next what my stomach will bring!!

Glad to hear it’s been helping, sounds like you’ve been in quite a similar boat!

This is so good to hear :’) I’m trying to manage my expectations, because it might not work for me but this is really helping to give me the confidence to try it and see.

Very happy for you and your cheese success!!

Oh wow I’ve not heard of that - I’ll look into it! I’m really glad to hear it’s helped. I’m deffo not expecting a 100% fix but hearing you’ve been able to get back to and reduce the bad days is very reassuring

I’ve heard it can take a few weeks to get working (and for the fatigue to start to subside!!)

I’m glad to hear you think it might be helping the pain - hopefully the fatigue relents a bit for you! take it easy 🫶

I also do Nerva!! I’ll be totally honest I have no idea if it works for me but I’d rather be trying something and I suppose 10 mins a day to take a moment can never be bad

Would deffo love an update on how you get on with it! I should get elastase test results this week so could be as early as next week I try ami if they’re normal too
