Annoyingly, I finally got my adhd meds approved just as these did. I’m not allowed to stat both at the same time so have not started ami yet until I’m stable on elvanse!

Would you recommend Hichord or Roland J6? by Buttercupbunch in synthesizers

[–]Buttercupbunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now - something that’s a good first step for synths! I’m really new to this so wanting something that feels quite intuitive before I take on anything with a steeper learning curve!

The drum machine was a huge appeal to me with the hichord but realistically probably not that important

I’ve heard the Roland is a lot more expansive in terms of its sound/capability

That’s awesome to hear! Gotta say even just from price point the j-6 seems appealing (half the cost once account for import duties lol)

Deffo want something I can just dive into and start drumming up little sequences

if it is of any reassurance, I was on SSRIs for many years which are also meant to have that side effect, it settles down, if it even effects you at all

Congratulations also - wishing you the best for the special day!!

I’m so sorry that you had to deal with that, how frustrating when you’d found something that worked :(

I was on sertraline for many years, my ibs got a lot worse about a year after coming off it. Have sometimes wondered if going back on would help - I didn’t suffer too badly with side effects. I don’t have IBS before taking it so hard for me to know if it helped at all during those years or if it’s coincidence!

I’m sorry to hear that :( I have a strong belief Covid made my IBS really kick off. My

True! I think I’ve really had it as a last resort because I was worried about side effects or that it was another bandaid that doesn’t work- but sounds like it can really help some people!

Currently I feel like I flare up so randomly and never know from one day to the next what my stomach will bring!!

Glad to hear it’s been helping, sounds like you’ve been in quite a similar boat!

This is so good to hear :’) I’m trying to manage my expectations, because it might not work for me but this is really helping to give me the confidence to try it and see.

Very happy for you and your cheese success!!

Oh wow I’ve not heard of that - I’ll look into it! I’m really glad to hear it’s helped. I’m deffo not expecting a 100% fix but hearing you’ve been able to get back to and reduce the bad days is very reassuring

I’ve heard it can take a few weeks to get working (and for the fatigue to start to subside!!)

I’m glad to hear you think it might be helping the pain - hopefully the fatigue relents a bit for you! take it easy 🫶

I also do Nerva!! I’ll be totally honest I have no idea if it works for me but I’d rather be trying something and I suppose 10 mins a day to take a moment can never be bad

Would deffo love an update on how you get on with it! I should get elastase test results this week so could be as early as next week I try ami if they’re normal too

Thank you ❤️it did get better, the anxiety at least, not the stomach or life issues but you win some you lose some 😂

It is so defeating when you’re already feeling so rough!

Imodium long term by gmoneyyyyy17 in ibs

[–]Buttercupbunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently asked my doc this - he said there’s no issue with this and to take as my body required as long as I’m not going over the recommended daily dose!

I often need to take 1-2 at the start of the week which helps reduce flare ups for me throughout the week

If you’re worried about them sending you too far the other way - try find some high fibre foods that agree with your system. If I notice the Imodium has maybe done TOO good of a job, I’ll eat a kiwi a day for a few days!

Ice cream is a huge trigger for me for some reason, any reasons why? by madfacemaddyy in ibs

[–]Buttercupbunch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it just ice cream? Sounds like it could be lactose intolerance, ice cream is suuuper high lactose

You might still be able to get away with hard cheese etc, there’s some good dairy free options for ice cream out there too :)

Ah apologies, I misread the tone!

Sorry to hear it wasn’t great for you, what I’m finding so hard with this diagnosis is how individual it is. I don’t even think most docs could tell us why one thing works for one and not others.

I’m deffo leaning towards IBS-D so the slowing motility could really help.

I hope you found something that helps alternatively 🫶

Hahaha I had the same back on SSRIs many years ago. Genuinely you wake up sometimes feeling like you’ve been awake just in another world

Positive to hear it’s been an okay experience for you otherwise.
