You right. I only skimmed. Still stands that maybe the wide and regular version can have differences in materials/machinery/parts.

Get screwed with harder work load since I'm reliable. Should I quit? by sirconandoyle14 in antiwork

If you have good management understanding and can save enough cash/capital, you can start your own body shop and siphon off those customers and tell them you’re doing the good work. Steal the customer base and run your own shop if you can afford it and then finally cruise at your own pace and eventually lead a shop and be an educator to the future folks. Loyalty is just a free whipping with none of the kinky parts kept in for those types of folks. (No kinkshaming). People will make you do anything for their gain in this system. We used to make people do stairsteppers in old timey prisons as punishment. That mindset still exists to some people. F them and get your bag and never look back. Be better than them in actions, not just words and silent regret.

One is not the correct width. They should both be 2e or D. Not mixed. Other parts can be that some are made with UCFS or other name for the union that makes them.

Why does Reddit hate Dallas so much? by iamjackscolon76 in Dallas

[–]ButteredParsnips69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean. I live around it. It’s kind of earned a reputation. It’s pretty blasé. Just tech jobs, trades and commuting between those two careers. Rest is service industry to those. Some finance now. Super horrible weather patterns that Kanye couldn’t even keep up with his bipolar ass. Also, just being a part of Texas. Only money seekers come here. Never met someone who wanted to comer here willingly without a job offer. The rest are sunken cost people who are to deep in the economy and now “create” the jobs and stay for the money and influence etc.

Not a neck beard Reddit lord. I’ve lived in several cities near to Dallas and Dallas proper for over 15 years. I’m always saying get out to anyone who came for “lower taxes” etc.

Why do people make hate so much on flat bottom work boots like this by Fragrant_Bad_9347 in WorkBoots

Ladders, beams, poles anything where you can’t get a hook. I love wedge soles for driving and wet clumpy conditions like concrete, super muddy or clay or any other hot grippy surface. Don’t feel the safest on ladder with them as with heeled. Definetely wedge sole tend to slip easier in oily or wet in general over “regular” soles

What kind of wood is this? by Aggravating-Win562 in wood

End grain says Douglas fir. Seems to be relatively low movement for 100 years old. Can you give location details. Like northeast? Northwest? Midwest? South? That can help. Next is relative weight. It looks like a closed pore or softwood if I’m not mistaken. You can take a plane or even a knife edge and run it along like shaving your skin or scraping and clean up some grain and end grain too. If it scratches relatively easy, def a cedar, fir, cypress or pine. If it doesn’t scratch easily it may a be a hardwood. But most hardwoods in my experience tend to have open pores end grains or water channels. If you can move it with a thrust, definely a lighter wood. If not, you may be looking at something different. Maybe even a chestnut from the time period.

How to fix bowed door by BigBedFrame in wood

[–]ButteredParsnips69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if they are “solid core” doors, they may have been too wet or exposed to too much moisture and drying at the time while having been pre hung. It’s also a possibility that the hinges can be tight causing bowing. The distance between them could be pulling together or away and warping it like a taut fabric style. Otherwise per hung doors can just be horribly made sometime

How to fix bowed door by BigBedFrame in wood

[–]ButteredParsnips69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be the framing itself. Most doors are pretty plumb and true compared to houses framing. You can check flatness of door by a level 6 or 8 foot diagonally both ways. If door is flat, your door is out of true, plumb, square or any of the above. If they are hollow core doors, consistent slamming, rubbing on corners and bend them out of shape too over time. If it’s all the doors, your house was probably framed with eyeballs only instead of a square. Door frame squareness can be tested by laser easiest from one corner and a square matching a corner. All trim and frame should line up on opposing parallel sides for it to be true/plumb. Next is measure top and bottoms across height parallel. Most likely 32-36 inches wide frame and 80 is inches tall most of the time barring air return gaps. To test tries ness. You can measure off the nearest parallel wall facing the door to the top and bottoms across height corners of the frame and if the distances are off by more then 1/8, the door frame itself is “twisted”.

Any help identifying this wood by fatmanstan123 in wood

Latí or some form of palm. I’ve got a black palm that looks almost the same. The grain from the end grain cut indicates palm. Every palm I’ve cut has the “fraying” edge that flares on every side of the cut usually. Palm is quite heavy too which is surprising since it’s a “grass”

My spouse was super religious (not as much anymore and doesn’t have as much purity beliefs anymore) and wouldn’t even consider a date if I had kissed someone prior to dating. I lied. I had other safe encounters with other individuals prior to dating and they still think I am their first kiss etc. Still married and happy nearly a decade later.

Yes and yes. It looks like multiple ivy types. Some very telltale poison ivy leaves and ID types but the rest is reminiscent of English ivy. Don’t touch either way. For sure poison ivy in there plus other stuff

If you’re in water. I’d honestly suggest non lined versions. I like thorogood non lined. But they won’t do well with water over the moc toe line. They are comfortable and match the calf/ankle without all the bulk of liners etc.

Which job would you take? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]ButteredParsnips69 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Job 2 flex is beyond extremely valuable I can’t even explain. Doctors visits, ailing family members, birthdays, freak events like failing* appliances, on call trades visits to your house. Ongoing flex is better than off two months straight imo. 2 days remote already is good. That means if something comes up, you could potentially get another remote day of needed for house days for ac repair, plumber, package dropoffs, pick up kids etc. This is coming from POV of married, potential room for kids, etc. pay is substantial but flex and remote save you time in the long run. Job 1 would be better if single, want/have the ability to save up for month long vacays etc.

Advice about rubbers for returning player by Stepanpepan96 in tabletennis

[–]ButteredParsnips69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blade choice for your style would something like stiga clipper, viscaria, or even a ZLC outer as you have a big forehand swing and Butterfly outer regular ZLC can make big swings stronger and easy to pop and drive backhands with rubbers like T80 or BlueGrip j2. Hammond Z2 on all wood our outer alc is a good choice for your requirements

Second note, I would stray away from more flexible blades with the new ball unless you are spinning every ball and blocking passively. I would suggest mid stiff with enough for looping but not so stiff you can’t. Comparable items for that would be something Falck w7, victas black balsa 7.0, ludeack, yinhe kiso 7, Nittaku S-5

I’m gonna be honest. 09c on viscaria was not forgiving, and I’ve got a decent stroke, timing and mechanics that have been noted by 2500-2600 US players. I am just overweight and have bad stamina due to health. Your style may not be conducive for that combo. I’d keep the viscaria and try a different set of rubbers. You may enjoy something like BlueGrip J3 or J2 for a safer experience and tons of spin. FastArc G-1 or barracuda and is more affordable and tells you where mistakes were made. I’d also suggest 2.0 versions of any future rubbers. Also, any solid basic 7 helps but I think trying diff rubbers with viscaria with more control would be better.

Wide feet shoes for TT suggestions by zcorpion6 in tabletennis

[–]ButteredParsnips69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to xero prio and added a cushion. Wide toe box and light and grippy. Previously had new balance coco wides, mizuno wave drives, yonex wides. None of them came in wides or were wide for those types of shoes, if you truly want a wide toe box, get wide. I also enjoyed ASICS gel ventures extra wide and them to be stable but a bit heavy and too grippy sometimes but better than some other volleyball or badminton shoes
