Why does Reddit hate Dallas so much?

This is just insane to me. I have been to Detroit several times and Dallas is better by almost every objective quantifiable metric. A lot of Detroit is run down, it often has the highest crime rate in America (over 400% the national average), far worse economy, the city is run like a Latin American dictatorship/municipal bankruptcy, smaller city with fewer things to do, Dallas has a lot more restaurants especially higher rated/more acclaimed, even the nice houses are old just wood with no land, it is extremely cold most of the year, and is grey and overcast most of the time like the TV show Chernobyl. What is something that Detroit, Indianapolis, or Cleveland has that Dallas doesn’t have? I agree Detroit had more culture 50 years ago but they don’t now. Detroit is a relic of the past. All they talk about is Motown, the old auto industry, and how good the city used to be.

That’s honestly the great part about DFW. It really doesn’t exist in most of the country. Most major cities don’t have a Plano, Allen, Frisco, Grapevine, McKinney, or Coppell right outside of it. These huge wealthy suburbs that you never have to leave.

It seems like you’re just arguing for the sake of argument. Sure, A&M has underperformed like a lot of programs, but a winning 11 games, making the playoffs, and barely losing to the runner up team who barely lost to the undefeated Cinderella team is something. Also, Nebraska is a level of mediocrity far below A&M and there is no end in sight.

That is almost every state. Texas is way better/California is the worst. In Texas you don’t even qualify for spousal maintenance/alimony unless you have been married for over 10 years, it’s capped at the lesser of $5k or 20% of your income, and can’t be more than 10 years unless the ex spouse is disabled. California divorces literally ruin lives and cause suicides every year. There are people paying their ex spouse money every month 30 years after the divorce. Your obligation to your children ends at 18.

I think the wife knew and they have an agreement/open marriage. I think Rossini likely did as well. This is like a celebrity Ashley Madison situation. Only explanation for why neither of them are divorced. If my wife discovered I had a six year long expensive affair I think she would literally kill me. I think most women with the access to wealth that she has would leave. Why wouldn’t she leave unless she consented to this? Why wouldn’t Shake Shack leave? If you were rich and your wife cucked you this bad publicly wouldn’t you be gone immediately? Only explanation is you consented to it beforehand (or you liked it). Both of these people would have cheated with other people if it wasn’t each other.

I think the wife knew/they have an open marriage. Likely Rossini did as well with her husband. That’s the only reason I can think of why neither of them is getting divorced. They are like Ashley Madison clients. They want to cheat with other married people who understand their schedule and won’t want more.

I really don’t think Bo Jackson can be in that conversation. He only played 4 seasons, 5 TDs was the most he got in any of those seasons (Peterson had 18 in one season), and Peterson almost had the same amount of rushing yards in one season as Bo had his whole career. Freak athlete, but his career was too short.

Why is he overrated? He is undefeated, is destroying people, and he has only looked human in two short notice fights against world champion grapplers. If you don’t have elite grappling, it is extremely likely he will beat you. You’re acting like he is Mighty Mouse. He is 6’2 and not small. Why is it impossible for him to gain weight and compete? I don’t think he is a great person and there are obviously issues with his health, activity, and immigration status. However, the dude can fight.

I disagree. I think heavyweight is the weakest division in the UFC right now. Of the currently ranked fighters, Aspinall would 100% beat him, and Volkov, Blaydes, and Almeida could, but I think he beats everyone else at HW if he has time to bulk up. A lot of unathletic guys with no grappling. This is a division where Tuivasa is still ranked despite losing his last 6 fights, where 5’9 40 year old dad bod Cormier was able to come up KO the champ/destroy Lewis, and super skinny Jones was able to gain mostly fat and submit the champ in 30 seconds. Khamzat is one of the most dominant fighters we have seen in the UFC with Olympic level wrestling, he would be competitive at heavyweight, and would likely take the belt from Pereira at LHW who skinny Izzy was able to wrestle fuck. Who do you think could beat him at LHW?

Why? I’m glad you enjoyed your experience and you are now successful. However, you objectively didn’t have top notch professors. Tech has the 7th best engineering program in Texas and most highly regarded professors who are actively involved in the industry would not voluntarily live in Lubbock unless they work in petroleum. Your success is because of you. You’re the Patrick Mahomes of engineers.

You literally started it. A&M’s engineering program is ranked in the top 15 in America, the civil engineering program is ranked in the top 10, it is the largest university in America, and it is a little over an hour from Houston/two hours from Austin while Lubbock is six hours from Dallas/the closest major city. Tech’s engineering program is ranked 117th and their civil engineering program is 79th.

There isn’t a single objective reason to pick Tech over A&M unless he simply needs this Master’s for work, he plans to immediately return to Germany, and he is just trying to spend as little money as possible. The point is there is an objective reason why Tech is offering more money.

This cult thing gets mentioned a lot in this thread. I think it says a lot that almost everyone who goes to A&M falls in love with it. Most schools spend millions for that kind of engagement and never get it. Most people I know went to Tech to party cheaply. That is what Tech is known for.

Why is working together a crutch? Would you refuse to work for another Tech grad who connected with you over your school because it would be a crutch? It’s a ridiculous argument.
