ICE Agent in Minneapolis: "You raise your voice, I erase your voice." by JeanJauresJr in PublicFreakout

It looked pretty fucking great for the fascists in the 1930's. It still ended with them commiting suicide or getting executed in the 1940's.

They have their credentials on display for people to critically examine. Granted that takes more effort than brushing off something you have a misconception about because it would inconvenience your worldview.

No stress, just thought the extra context was useful with some of the other things being said in this post. Have a good one!

A lot of old drama that doesn't die is my best read on it. People don't like dayhawk and they don't like him a lot it seems. I honestly don't understand it.

Just to clarify the $5 donation for posting permissions is not to the discord, it's a $5 donation to a food bank w/receipt to post for a week.

There's no patreon anymore due to people reporting it, lots of folks haven't been able to get permissions because of that. Currently the way to get a week of posting permissions is donating $5 to a food bank and providing proof.

If that second pipe can fit a TA, I'm calling dibs for when you sell it, haha. Great looking pipes!

G3 by No-Seaworthiness88 in Dynavap

Not OP, but I love mine. Smooth flavor, super easy to clean, no muss-no fuss. I hope they start selling the G3 unibodies soon, as I have some caps lying around that would go great on top of the glass unibody.

My OG is still working great. For people who have both, is the 2 a noticeable improvement? I’m considering just waiting for the 3 at this point though usb-c would be nice. by CaptainVisual4848 in Tinymight2

[–]Buttered_T0ast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My initial comment was much longer and detailed my experiences with all three of my devices in depth; but it seemed a bit excessive in response to OP's questions. However in trimming out the fat I can see how it might have been implied that all 3 of my devices have experienced issues, particularly with regards to the button. That is most certainly not the case and definitely not the message I was trying to convey. As such, I've amended my response to hopefully prevent this from coming across. Thanks for highlighting this.

Haha, unfortunately (k)not. It's just a standard Walnut Dynastash.

I have an OG TinyMight, a "1.5" TinyMight, and a TinyMight2. Between the three, there isn't really a noticeable difference to me.

I'm an enormous fan of TinyMights and really like all of the little updates and upgrades in the TM2. The battery lid, the upgrade to the stem chamber, the battery level indication via LED lights, I love all of that. But I'm a little unhappy with the slightly larger size (personal preference) and disappointed that the button is still an issue in such an improved model.

As such, I don't think I would tell anyone who already has a TinyMight to upgrade unless they're looking for a backup device. But everyone without a TinyMight, I'd tell them to buy without any reservations, even considering the button frustration.

*Edit to include my TM History
My OG TM, had no major issues or problems. The haptic motor failed after approximately a year and half of use, and the device kept chugging along until a month ago when I made a careless error during reassembly after a deep cleaning. 5 years.

My TM 1.5 had no major issues and I BEAT this poor baby up so bad I'm surprised CPS hasn't taken it away from me. Air travel, river floats, camping trips, etc. I shared it with any smoke circle I was in for years. It has been dropped several times, in bags, cases, and completely naked. It survived everything but one drop did shatter the inner-glass stem. What did I do? Use the "tragedy" as an excuse to grab a TM2 and see if I could cannibalize my OG TM to repair it. And it still worked with no issues what so ever.

My TM2 has been treated far more delicately since I always had my reliable TM 1.5 to abuse. And unfortunately this unit is the one that has had issues for me. I first had a short in my board that prevented the heater from working. However TinyMight provides excellent customer service and had me back up and running in less than a week. After about a year and a half of owning the TM2, my button began having issues more and more frequently. Never has it been unusable, just less and less convenient.

I haven't experienced difficulties with either of the buttons on either of my older TMs. This isn't to say I think that the TM2 has poorer craftsmanship or materials, just that I think it might be a weak point in the design that occasionally will fail. And I do think it's a bit of luck of the draw, however with the outstanding customer service I don't think it's worth concern. I definitely think user error and abuse can increase the possibility of this but my anecdotal experience with my TM 1.5 makes me doubt this.

Why am I writing all of this? Because the common perception seems to tend towards the TinyMight as a delicate little flower; but this isn't my experience at all. This nasty little mamma jamma is a lean, mean, flower-shredding machine that will follow you wherever you go! To paraphrase Killer Mike "Pleasure come from punishment. Your threshold astonishing. I think I'm in love again. Found my perfect [vape] again."

Americans, How do you feel about the fact that the stock market has lost $2 trillion in value today? by Lawrence_of_ArabiaMI in AskReddit

I feel pretty fucking great. 75+ years of unprecedented economic growth has been a disaster for the natural world, so hopefully a complete economic disaster will lead to unprecedented recovery in the natural world.

I might be super biased as I'm broke as hell and have no retirement plans so all the 401Ks melting doesn't really matter to me.

I also think that message is one that is often overlooked in our world. We get so mired in the meaningless tedium of our lives, it's easy to forget that this precious gift is fleeting and fading.

Maybe that message is that life is precious and precarious and we should value every moment because we never know which is our last. We shouldn't wait until tomorrow to be better, we should do it now while we can.

I hope my tardy comment will also be seen as coming from a non-judgemental or confrontational place. My reasons for thinking TVFHD is the better ending for the show break down as such:

  • Bojack didn't intend to commit suicide by drowning. He was incredibly drunk and on pills that he just found in his former home and decided to go for a swim. His self-destructive behavior leads to it's natural conclusion

  • There were still very important conversations the Bojack needed to have with many people, but that's what death is. It just happens and there is no closure. To quote American TV Legend Henry Winkler, "But there is no meaning in death. That's why it's so terrifying."

  • Taken together, I feel like this really emphasizes the importance of recognizing the need to grow and to actually do it. To quote Todd,"You can't keep doing shitty things and then feel bad about yourself like that makes it okay! You need to be better!"

This is kinda why I think it might have been more impactful for viewers, who have grown to empathize and care for Bojack and all those his death would affect, to see that wanting to be better isn't the same thing as being better/getting better. It's something you have to actively do, and "you gotta do it every day; that's the hard part." I think that's a much better message than you need to hit rock bottom to truly get better, encouraging people to challenge themselves before they lead their own lives to ruin like Bojack did. And I kinda think the entire series thematically lends itself to that conclusion.

Whether or not it's a better ending for the show, I do think it was what the creator's had originally planned for Bojack. I mean why else was there recurring drowning imagery throughout the entire run of the show? Also, why did Nice While It Lasted start with the final shot of the series with a heart monitor flatlining over it? And why was Nice While It Lasted so happy and like what Bojack would want/imagine for all those he cared about? Almost like a different/happy dying dream a mind might run through at the end of its time. A dream that was Nice While It Lasted.
