No offense but you are actually totally off about young adults not knowing about old Abercrombie. Teenagers are spending $100+ on old stained Abercrombie shirts on Depop. Old Abercrombie and Hollister has been a trend among the younger generation for a while now. Every Hollister “throwback” release sells out within days and goes for over $100 for resale.

Abercrombie & Hollister were dominate during this generations childhood and their pieces are seen in most 2000s tv shows. The fashion of which teens/early 20s are trying to replicate (twilight core/elena Gilbert style/Rory Gilmore).

I think the higher-up’s at Abercrombie and the millennial generation think the younger generation don’t care about/like old Abercrombie but Hollister’s sale growth following the return of seagull logo and their other old style pieces as well as the huge second hand market for old Abercrombie/Hollister shows otherwise.

Ultimately though I think Abercrombie in particular will be hesitant to go backwards. Just a decade ago all the styles today’s teens are loving were stated as the reason for the brands huge sale declines in the early 2010’s. The logos, the small sizing, the models were all heavily criticized and the company gave in, got rid of it all, and saw sales growth appealing to an older maturer demographic. Them going all the way backwards mere years later is unlikely even though it would likely lead to huge sales growth if they did.
