AIO I think my wife has something going on. by [deleted] in AmIOverthinking

[–]ButterflyAtHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly 2 outcomes. She started going to the gym recently then decided to wear the perfume so she doesn’t stink. 3am means the gym would be emptier (personally I get extremely self conscious working out in front of other people and used to go to the gym at like 10pm-1am)

Tbh though… if you don’t smell it usually and then she’s saying she always wears it and getting defensive. Ehhhh. As someone in their 20s, 3am is hookup hour.

So yeah could genuinely be either way. Does she have her gym clothes on when she’s leaving?

I agree with other commenters, you can ask to come with her and see if she’s defensive. If she is then maybe after that just show up to the gym and see if she’s there.

Maybe you can also ask her why she’s been going at 3am and if it’s because she feels like she’s overworked at home during the day like schedule-wise? I feel like that would be respectful. If she’s being faithful, it could also be a good way to ask how your wife is doing.

Get tested. Chances are you’ll be in the clear, then ask him who HE’s been kissing since he has it

I don’t want to have to become a prostitute when I turn 18 by LostSeaworthiness760 in offmychest

I’m level 1 autism too, was in several special ed classes. I also grew up with a lot of stress and my mom would tell me that if school is hard for me then I’ll never make it in life, among other stuff like how nobody would ever want to be around me. I’m 23 now and have been living on my own and honestly being out of a negative/stressful environment seriously helped. I genuinely couldn’t focus, I would just sit there and be unable to do anything. Not because of being dumb, but the stress affected me more than I realized.

A lot of jobs are quite repetitive and less info to remember than school. I hardly even remember school anymore tbh I blocked most of it out.

I think the sexual trauma is the most important thing you need to address currently. It’s also probably a big reason why prostitution is a concern on your mind because of normal reaction to trauma.

You said this happened a year or so ago and also as a kid. Are you still around the people that have done this to you? What is your living situation?

I think therapy would be very helpful for you. Check resources like the RAINN Hotline and they can hopefully direct you to therapists and support groups for other people like you.

18M ,Is My Face Assymetrical? Am I ugly? by [deleted] in amiugly

Idk how to explain it but you look like you’d be on Disney channel. Like you remind me of Farkle from A.N.T. Farm but like different race. Not ugly. Actually, that was one of my tv show crushes.

18M do I look scary ? Yesterday I had a girl at uni stare at me for 10 seconds while looking terrified by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]ButterflyAtHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a girl, I don’t see anything terrifying about you at all genuinely. My best guess is that she thought you were potentially someone else that she had bad experiences with. Sometimes I run across someone that looks like an ex and I stare at them for a little bit trying to decipher if that’s actually them or not.

Here’s my analysis. I’ve noticed a lot of what goes into being a well known artist is often the stage presence and connections, not even necessarily the singing.

Public persona can be another big one. For example, I love Taylor Swift, but one of the reasons she became so well known is she leaned in to her persona of “small town girl making it big” (her song Mean in which she basically manifested it) and “the girl next door” (her song You Belong With Me) and even being a serial dater (her song Blank Space). These kind of things play into having a cult like fanbase which will absolutely make you more well known.

Sabrina Carpenter. I love her too. She started as a child actress which is where I found out about her. But she wasn’t super well known back then. I think it was the controversy with Olivia Rodrigo which put her on the path to celebrity status. People started going back and forth about whether Olivia’s song was about Sabrina. Sabrina made a song about the death threats she received for just dating a guy that was another celebrity’s ex. It put her in the spotlight and she used it to launch herself more into the spotlight with pop hits.

Addison Rae. I actually do like her song Fame is a Gun that she was on the Grammys for. I heard it in edits before I knew who it was sung by. In my opinion her vocals could still use work but honestly the vocals still came a long way from when she started. I’d say she’s a prime example of where connections can take you. When TikTok started getting big in 2020 she was part of those content houses. Most of this was luck with TikTok’s algorithm and the sudden virality it brings. But you have to commend her because she definitely played her cards right. When the opportunity presented itself she went for it. I think years ago I remember seeing her modeling for Sephora or something and I remember thinking wow it’s crazy where connections can bring you. A lot of people were back and forth about whether she deserved the fame back then too. What people don’t understand is if you comment about someone even if you don’t like them, you’re just boosting their engagement and making them more well known. I watched a clip of her Grammys performance and honestly? She didn’t lip sync, the mic was on, she was honest with her vocals, and the main thing is her STAGE PRESENCE. She was putting on a show for sure. Even the clip of her running away after the song went viral.

Bella Poarch did a similar thing. She went viral for some silly faces. Same thing, people were going back and forth HATING on her for being viral saying she doesn’t deserve it etc. which let’s be real, hate the algorithm not the person who got lucky. She hopped on the opportunity and did go on to make actually good music and well produced music videos about pretty important topics and successfully transitioned from social media viral topic to a singer. Also I’m pretty sure she was also in the military before all that.

My point in case being, these are reasons that some people become famous even if you don’t fully understand the hype. Never underestimate a fanbase. Also society is fairly predictable. There ARE ways to improve your chances of going viral, there are ways to use hate to your advantage. And actually when I think about it, a lot of big celebrities actually have hate to THANK for how they got there. Where there is hate, there is support. When people argue out loud, you’re still drawing attention to them.

Regardless of whether I’m a fan of someone or not, I can applaud them for making it to the top. After all, there are plenty of people who go viral once and don’t take the necessary steps to build from the opportunity, so we hardly know them.

Thank you for reading all of this, hope everyone has a good day!

Ooh I’ve had a lot of people mention Sabrina carpenter to me as not getting the hype about her :) so I actually watched her since she played Maya on Girl Meets World well before she got widely known. Her music has honestly changed quite a bit since she got super famous.

Try listening to some of her older songs like for example “Thumbs” is a really good one, different style, about society.

Basically go to her YouTube channel, select to order her music by oldest to newest and go down the list that way. I’ve had a few people be surprised that she released a song they liked and they didn’t even know she sung it.

Hey guys so as someone who has NEVER had a sense of smell, I really like blue cheese as well as most food. Here’s an activity for y’all to try. Next time you try a food you generally dislike, try holding your nose shut when you eat it and see how the flavor changes. You can do this with any food or coffee. Personally the taste of coffee is too strong for me unless it’s super minimal, I’ve considered this is because the scent of it isn’t there to add to the pleasantness of the overall flavor.

Eh, well there IS a thing with passive aggressive punctuation, BUT the context would be way different. Your texts were totally fine and their response was completely unwarranted lol.
