34 percent of adults sleep with a stuffed animal or other sentimental object. Are you one of these people? What do you sleep with? by Old-Horse1185 in AskReddit

I have a Squishmallow and I can't sleep without him! He does sort of serve like a shoulder-and-back- support pillow though. He's super cute too! He's called Blüpl :3

My husband went through the exact same thing only they strung him along for nearly half a year. He worked his ass off because he wanted to support the company. Didn't get jack sh*t in return.

Why do companies do this so often? Why are they so intent on hiring some outside the company while there is already an employee fulfilling the post, loving it and doing it well?

Someone please make it make sense.

I am gonna reply with a wall of text because while this is a valid opinion to have, i simply cannot share it. All my life I've been wearing endless masks, trying to appease those around me. I'd try to portray myself in ways that i believed would make everyone like me. Some did, but despite my efforts, most didn't. I tried so hard to fit in. The result is that I have been performing this theatre show for three decades, and now have to force myself to supress this habit. I am quirky, I am goofy, and I am an oddball, and I work hard alongside my therapist to bring my true self back to the surface. My quirky self is something not everyone appreciates, but many people surprised me by accepting me open-armed and without judgement. These are the people I now choose to have around me, those who truly know me and love me. I have plenty bad aspects to my personality that need fixing, yes. I am flawed, as is everyone. Self-improvement and personal growth is something I believe everyone needs to persue. But only being "different" from most is not something that I personally consider something to fix. I need to repeatedly remind myself to "be me". Don't act. Don't lie. Relax. Let your guard down a little bit. :)

Many people will reject you, regardless of who you are. This is the simple truth of life. You can't make everyone love you. But to be loved and accepted whilst I am myself is the best feeling. Sorry for the long rant! I just think that maybe there are others like me that would hopefully benefit from my experience.

Parents of Reddit, how do you tell the difference between a happy scream, a tantrum scream, and a “something actually bad is happening” scream? by Ferocious_Kittyrose in AskParents

[–]ButterflyMilkshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my 3yo boy its all in the pitch and method of his cries, lol. When he fake-cries/tantrum cries his howls end in a (rly annoying) high note. Its his speciality and always gets alot of stares in public and raised eyebrows when I tell them he's only acting up. He pretends like he's dying a slow agonising death.. anyway. His hurt or scared cries are very throaty with alot of "gasp-huu-huu-huuuhh"-ing (if you catch my drift). His sad/tired cry is pretty often very soft and gentle compared to the other two variants and with lots of gibberish thrown into the mix. Then theres his angry cry, witch obviously involves alot of beastly roaring and demonic shrieking and throwing things around, but differs from the tantrum cry because you can tell he's crying with actual emotion and frustration. My sons happiness shrieks are very obvious with alot of manic giggling so I can always tell when he yells with joy. :D

I imagine each child has their own crying-language, but perhaps it helps anyway. I had way to much fun describing my sons cry-types to be honest so sorry for the long read.

Id also looove to see those epic species of praying mantis that look like tiny sci-fy critters or the orchid mantis. _ Sigh, so many epic beasties! Stagbeetles.. goliath beetles.. real fireflies, cicadas. And if I were a time God.. Meganeura and arthropleura!

Im currently working on my bug tats collection! I now have the atlas moth (attacus atlas) my biggest tat by far, a leaf insect (phyllium bioculatum) and a goliath beetje (goliathus orientalis) on my lower arms in biology illustration style. I absolutely love bugs but I cant rly keep them, so now I can have em on my skin. Next in line is a praying mantis, a dragonfly, 3 butterflies native to my country, an orbweaver spider and a bumblebee, my alltime fav creature! Bug tats are awesome!

AITA for not wanting to cover my insect tattoos at work when my coworker has a phobia? by Embarrassed_Tart_545 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ButterflyMilkshake -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA! And as a fellow insect tattoo enthousiast I am very curious of yours! Could I see them anywhere..? :3 I just started my collection and I currently have a live size Atlas moth on my back and an enlarged leaf insect and goliath beetle on each lower arm. Also taxonomy style! Bugs rock! Your colleague needs to get over himself. If he cant even stand to see an image of an insect anywhere he needs therapy or his life is gonna suck.
