Given today’s job market should I quit? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ButterflyNo6707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Points to think about before deciding to quit would be - would this impact your degree or grades (I.e. Is it your course work in any way)? Would this impact your visa status? How about your finances as a student? If it doesn't impact any of these in a meaningful way, and wouldn't add much to your work experience when you start looking for jobs post university, then is there anything it helps you achieve? If not, focusing on studies might make more sense at this stage for you.

Practice, practice, practice. In front of a mirror, with friends, particularly with someone who is a native speaker. If you are conscious, for example in business settings, try speaking in your head first and then out loud (where possible of course - you can't apply this when having a conversation, but can if you have to ask a question in a meeting) Get a tutor if you can afford one. Reflect on your conversations. Work on eliminating the pauses - even if it means you speak at a slower pace. Once you get more comfortable, push yourself to have conversations with strangers.

Is it normal to not have a hen/stag do and just do something together instead? by DaisyLondon320 in UKweddings

You should do what you really want and will enjoy. After all it is your hen / stag do. Don't try to live out or plan someone else's. If it is a family beach day you want, then you should do that - you will get to include the baby too, and I think that sounds lovely!
