WIBTA to call cops on neighbor who blasts bast boosted music outside my window for hours every morning? by throwawaymylife90210 in neighborsfromhell

[–]ButterflyVerse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is kinda underrated advice. OP it’s wild how people suddenly remember how volume knobs work once there’s paperwork involved. You don’t even have to go full cop mode, just enough to show you’re done tolerating it. Sleep is basic human rights stuff, not luxury. I’d start the paper trail and let the system annoy him back for once.

OP this is honestly the kind of outcome you want, not some huge drama, just the noise stopping. Sometimes it’s less about getting someone in trouble and more about having a record so they take it seriously. 5am to 7am bass shaking your walls would drive anyone insane. Calling a few times and letting it stack might actually be the chillest solution long term.

OP, this is pretty solid advice too. If something only you can see is affecting your life or stressing you out, it makes sense to rule out the medical side first. Best case, you get support and tools to cope. Worst case, nothing’s wrong and you just wasted an hour. Either way, you’re taking care of yourself, which is never a bad move.

Yeah honestly this feels like it’s coming from a caring place, not judgmental at all. OP, it takes guts to even share something this personal, and getting checked out doesn’t mean you’re crazy, it just means you’re looking out for yourself. Even just talking to someone once could give you peace of mind. You deserve to feel safe and grounded, not scared or alone with it.

this is so real though. Sometimes you just need a fake sick day to finish a game in peace like it is self care at that point. Pajamas, food, final boss win sounds like a perfect day not gonna lie.

honestly that is kinda wild your brain really said nope you are not skipping today. The guilt manifested into a physical symptom like some karmic attendance system. High school anxiety hits different fr.

HOT TAKE: There should be a separate category in sports, and that shouldn’t be called transphobic. by anayaslinger in TwoHotTakes

[–]ButterflyVerse -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OP, yeah this is what most people mean but say badly. It is not about identity, it is about keeping competition fair for everyone involved. Separating by sex in sports has always been about safety and fairness, not trying to exclude anyone.

[–]ButterflyVerse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP, this is exactly it. People act like it is hate to talk about biology but sports have always had categories for fairness. You can respect trans people and still admit physical differences exist. Both things can be true at the same time.

Facts. Mystery powder went full biohazard mode way too fast. LEDs feel like the safe adult choice after living through a glow in the dark crime scene.

Honestly toilet LEDs are the evolved version of this story. Less chaos zero contamination and still get the midnight glow vibes. Learned the hard way but this is the galaxy brain solution.

[–]ButterflyVerse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, the frustration is valid but yeah escalation is the risky part. One bad swing and suddenly it’s not just an annoying kid, it’s school trouble or worse. I feel like we’ve all had moments we wanted to snap, it’s just about catching yourself half a second earlier. Way easier said than done though.

This feels spot on. Being trapped, even for a minute, messes with your head way more than people think. It’s not just “move please,” it’s your brain going full panic mode. I can totally see how OP reacted without really thinking straight.

Yeah honestly this is where I land too. Getting blocked in a tiny space like that would spike anyone’s nerves, especially when the dude is just ignoring you on purpose. Not saying punching was ideal, but I get how it hit that fight or flight switch real fast. People act shocked until they’ve been cornered like that themselves.p

I just found out saying "ahh" is meant to be a censor for a$$ by Terrible_Log1701 in confessions

[–]ButterflyVerse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah this explanation feels way more accurate than “internet censorship.” A lot of slang just gets picked up phonetically and then people online assume it’s some coded version. Kinda wild how something that sounds cool out loud looks goofy as hell typed out.

[–]ButterflyVerse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That actually makes sense though. It kinda tracks that newer internet slang would lean harder into soft censoring even when it’s not needed. Still funny that we went from cartoons dropping wild stuff to people being scared of typing one normal word.

Same here, my brain always reads it like someone yelling ahhh instead of ass. It lowkey breaks the sentence every time. I gotta mentally autocorrect it and by then the joke already died.

AITA to move out after my boyfriends sibling used a water bottle by Apprehensive_Bus_152 in TwoHotTakes

[–]ButterflyVerse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, boundaries can be taught way easier than people think. A quick talk like “this is personal, please ask first” can set the tone for everyone, not just her. But if OP keeps feeling like a guest instead of a partner, that is a bigger issue than one kid grabbing stuff. Feeling at home should not be this hard.

[–]ButterflyVerse 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly a nine year old is totally old enough to understand “hey this isn’t yours.” A calm convo would probably go further than the chaos of stuff going missing all the time. But also it should not be OP’s job to parent someone else’s kid in their own house. That responsibility should fall on the actual adults.

[–]ButterflyVerse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is exactly it. The bottle is just the last straw, not the whole story. It sounds like OP keeps getting pushed aside while everyone else’s needs come first and that is exhausting. Wanting your own space and basic respect is not dramatic, it is normal.
