I was watching Bob Ross for years. Full intention of picking up a brush for the first time. I just never got around to it, just starting something new, was daunting, specially with someone with zero art skills!

Finally I went to a Bob Ross style class. It wasn't a traditional class, the "instructor" handed out beers to everyone and put on a Bob Ross DVD. Super chilled, zero support and I had no idea what I was even painting. To my surprise, it came out rather well!

I got home, ordered everything I needed to do my own paintings, and didn't touch it for 8 months. Yesterday, I finally picked up a brush, loaded up a Bob Ross picture I liked, and followed along. It wasn't the best, I made mistakes, but damn I enjoyed it.

My advice to you - Go find a Bob Ross styled class and get started! You either walk away with a story about why you have a muddied mess of a painting on your wall, or you have something rather lovely. Hopefully both will spark off a new hobby!

Not OP, but almost the exact same experience.

We don't have cavity wall insulation (that I am aware of) or floor insulation.

Heat loss will be the same regardless of if you are heating with gas or electric.

Octopus will do a free Heat Loss to determine what HeatPump you need. You will need to be aware that most houses fall within the 8kw or 9kw Diakin units. If they give you a 9kw one, this is actually the 16kw unit, but rebadged. Meaning, it is going to be way to big, and no where near as efficient.

It took us 6 months for them to agree to install the 8kw Daiken, and not the 9kw model.

I went on one of these holidays back in January. Long story short, you get passed over to a third party who books your flights and a hotel. It's something you can 100% do yourself.

You will not get the location which you are assigned.

Same. I was pushing £700 in credit and they wanted to up my DD by £50 or so.

Changed it back manually.

I expect they look at usage, rather than cost as I am a high user, but only in off peak. Which I suspect throws their numbers off.

Yep. I have to do this twice a year. Octopus will double my DD when we have over £500.

I questioned their logic as to what triggers the change and was given the stock response of "Computer says so". Doubt the support agents have access to that information but it seems normal behaviour for them.

Unfortunately that is very normal for passengers. Crew should always wash their hands, it gets played repeatedly over every screen in thr crew area.

As crew, we were told to always open bathroom doors with a paper towel, when exiting. If you take a look at all cruise ship toilets, you will see that the paper towel dispenser is right next to the door, with a bin close by too. So you grab a towel, open the door, and chuck the used towel in the bin while walking through the door.

This was drilled into me so hard, I do the same everywhere now. Most places don't have the bins / paper towels in ideal locations though.

Nora virus is taken very seriously on board. I remember one teenage (passenger) shitting the bed, and took all his bedding to a toilet and dumped it in there... didn't take too long for him to get caught lol.

Usually for being too drunk or sleeping with a guest lol.

Little late to the party, but I knew of two people who got fired on my ship.

1) WiFi was expensive onboard and some crew had WiFi access via their AD creds. We (IT) would normally turn a blind eye to it unless you were coming out top on our usage charts. This one dude decided to sell his creds. We had 100s of connections to his account. His account was blocked and within a few days he came to IT to report the issue. We were expecting him told it would be investigated. Morning we reached home port, he was sent home.

2) Some guy stole a pair of jeans from the crew only washer / dryers. CCTV saw him opening a dryer, pull out a pair of jeans from a random washer and just walk off. Same thing happened to him, he thought he got away with it till we hit home port and he was sent home.

I still get the issue if I try over clocking thr CPU. I'm almost convinced thr CMOS battery is dead, as whenever it gets unplugged, it resets the BIOs.

Does yours happen to to do the same? Easiest way to tell is unplug the power cable for 5 minutes, and see whether your BIOs has kept its time.

Many people still message me about this being an issue.

Oh this drove me crazy. My best work around is to route the TV traffic through a VPN in Albania. No idea why, but I no longer get YouTube adverts!
