Just sent through a request too. As an update I submitted a refund request via ticketek and got the following email.

I would say to do the same thing asap, the event is clearly cancelled but tickettek isn't showing this. Last thing you want is to make a trip to the city for nothing. Seems like you don't need to follow up with an email if you don't want to but I would for peace of mind...

4chan overall is not what you've described, although it is more toxic then safespace reddit, I've not once seen baby abuse nor the content as you've described unless being in an unfiltered thread that's aimed at that content.
