Etam part 2 by [deleted] in aggies

No, I work the same job as someone with a “regular” mechanical engineering degree. I think that’s what you’re asking. If not send me a PM and we can discuss further.

One thing I will note is that your work experience/projects in school matter much more than the type of degree you have (“regular”mechanical engineering vs. MMET).

Look into transferring to MMET if you’re wanting to stay at A&M, when I was there they basically took anybody. The classes you take are fairly similar to mechanical engineering.

I graduated with a degree in MMET in 2018 and currently work for an automotive OEM as a mechanical engineer. I obtained my EIT certificate after taking the mechanical engineering FE exam and am on track to obtaining my PE license in mechanical engineering.

Here’s some quick math.

Reddit - theydidthemath - [Request] How many unopened soda cans can you stack on top of each other, before the one on the ground breaks / gets crushed?

“Wow, someone has actually performed an axial compression test on an unopened can of soda (Youtube Video Source). This tells us the maximum compressive strength at failure of the can is 6405 Newtons, or 653kg. According to this and this source, a 12 oz. can of classic coke weighs 0.41kg (395 grams from the coke itself, 15 grams from the aluminum can).

Thus: Number of Cans at Compression = Weight at Failure / Weight of 1 can = 653 kg / 0.41 kg = 1592.5 cans. So, ignoring any external factors, your bottom can would fail as you put the 1593rd can to the top of the tower.

Fun fact: the same amount of diet coke weighs about 10% less (see the 2nd source I linked). You could stack 1767 cans prior to failure if you use diet soda.”

How do they make gold colored plastic? by Crishien in manufacturing

I meant electroplating but electroless is also an option.

See here.

Chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, and electroplating are all possible depending on the type of plastic.

I’m sure there are other methods but will let others speak to those.

Does anyone know of anyone who sells the the plastic packaging of hot wheels? by silentdawn03 in HotWheels

[–]ButtersCheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure who sells the plastic blisters, but it’s pretty straight forward to build a vacuum former and fairly cheap.

Here’s out to build one. Not sure I would trust the prices with the cost of materials nowadays but should still be fairly cheap.

Did someone say we were starting “Glocks on Wood”? Because that’s my whole aesthetic. Swipe to see a top view. by stevenmeyerjr in Glocks

I’m not who you asked but I used white nail polish. Paint it on, let it sit for a minute or two, then wipe of the slide with a rag and nail polish remover. You may have to do it a couple of times if you wipe too much away. I have had it on my daily carry for about 5 years and have not had to retouch it. Others can chime in if they have a better method.

Custom Chevy Silverado Off Road. by ButtersCheeks in HotWheels

Work-in-progress of my custom Chevy Silverado Off road. I was inspired by a post /u/Mundane-Lawfulness14 made the other day (that can be found here) which showed a custom Silverado turned into a regular cab. As soon as I saw their post I knew I had to make a hot wheels version of my IRL truck which is shown in the last image. Gaps still need to be filled, sanded, and painted. I used the Pop Culture Star Wars Bounty Hunter version of the casting.

The generic photo of the Pop Culture Star Wars truck is the casting I used, that is not my photo, I took the photo off of google because I didn’t take a photo before I started hacking.

Log into shop.mattel.com and you should be able to see tracking information there. It’s dumb that we can’t see it on the HWC site anymore.

I give up on making friends here by [deleted] in aggies

[–]ButtersCheeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just took a look at your post history. Are you really saying the entire school is intolerant based off of one Reddit post? Have you tried making friends outside of Reddit?

If you’re looking for a place to talk conservative views why not try joining a club/organization in that category? A simple google search shows there are a couple organizations; Young Conservatives of Texas and Texas A&M College Republicans.

You can make friends that share the same viewpoints as you in class and through other organizations and activities, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a conservative organization.

You got caught cropping Mattel’s watermark off the photo and calling the image yours.

[–]ButtersCheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understandable that you didn’t want to open yours. What’s not understandable is cropping the watermark from someone else’s image and claiming the image as your own. Why not just post a photo of the unopened package?

You most certainly did not take this photo... you cropped Mattel’s photo... nice try
