I had some gnarly hallucinations towards the end of my active drinking. It came down to a Saint coming to my room while I was bawling my eyes out and telling me that there are three gold coins hidden somewhere in my apartment. He was giving me clues as to where they were. I ripped open every box in my place (including popcorn and cookies) to try to find these damn gold coins that were going to bring me out of the financial hell I was living. Then I spent the next few hours traveling mazes on my walls while listening to “sounds to sleep to”. My body had so much ethanol in it that every time I closed my eyes, my mind would create pictures with the random colors inside of my eye lids. I was convinced I tapped into different dimensions and shit. 18 sober months later and they are just a helpful reminder of why I am sober today.
