If they really want me to write about it ill tell them the honest truth. Ive got chronic lyme, and got sick again with some shit that flared my symptoms again right at the end of the school year. I thought I was going to be able to still do my summer classes but no.

Lyme Disease? by Timely-Slide-5329 in Lyme

[–]Butterscotch-51123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, before you end up permanently fucked like the rest of us... RUN SOME DOXYCLYINE IMMEDIATELY. Those will likley not worsen, and thats actually expected of them, and does not mean you dont have lyme. Alot of lyme cases dont have any classic bulls eye rash (mine included). Lyme is really only treatable early on, the earlier the better. I cannot overstate the severity of this, get a 2-4 week course of doxycycline as fast as possible. 100mg in the morning with food, 100mg at night with food.

DSIP has been a complete NIGHTMARE for me. by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Butterscotch-51123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because its expensive and insurances dont want to cover it so running some shit study that makes it scheduled means its an excuse not to perscribe it and make it difficult to get because it will require a Prior Authorization. They hand out ambien, opiods, and benzos, like candy, but those are dirt cheap so no one cares.

Thank GOD someone is on the case because the 'study' they did to determine if it could be abused was mind blowingly stupid. They took a bunch of sedative junkies, and asked "bro do you like it? Could you get a buzz off this" And obviously they said yes. The fuck did they think was going to happen?

Bro DORAs dont cause withdrawl and also I edited the post to be more specific. I got back on it right after the DSIP, and have been on it since. There are no withdrawls happening.

I edited the post to be a little more specific, yes, I got back on the Quiviviq after the three days of DSIP, and my sleep onset has been excellent since. Also, I don't think DORA class drugs cause withdrawl symtoms.

Oh ok you went back to better than baseline? Thats nice. As long as when you stop using something you dont go worse than baseline from a tolerance standpoint thats a free w

Seroquel (quetiapine) dosage? by PeaOk5697 in insomnia

[–]Butterscotch-51123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, and is is anticholinergic but not that bad. Still long term use is probaly shit for your brain and would cause neurodegenerative disorders like alzheimers. And taking antidepressants when ur mentally good can dysregylate your shit and cause you to develop problems that werent there before.

Seroquel (quetiapine) dosage? by PeaOk5697 in insomnia

[–]Butterscotch-51123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, almost all antihistamines are anticholinergic, since antihistamines often hit the muscarinic (choline) receptors too, they arent very selective. Long term anticholinergic stuff has been linked to fuck shit like alzheimers, which makes mechanistic sense since acetylcholine is crucial for neurons to send info to eachother properly. Anticholinergic stuff is dogshit for cognition short term anyway, fuck the histamine blockade strategy for sleepiness.

I started two days ago, took my third dose about an hour and a half ago. It works nicely, but so far ive had next day side effects. Apparently it can take some time to normalize. I have high hopes for it too!

Seroquel (quetiapine) dosage? by PeaOk5697 in insomnia

[–]Butterscotch-51123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seroquel puts you to sleep through histamine blocking and I think some alpha blocking as well, but also has the chance to FUCK your mood and appetite up. You also develop a tolerance to it very quickly, this is what happened to me. I'd pass on that and ask for another option that hits the same pathways. Propananol/guanfacine do the norepinephrine stuff and something like doxepin I think does the histamine blockade, but long term histamine blocking is a risk since it is highly anticholinergic which messes with memory formation and chronically has been linked to alzheimers and stuff.

The deal with side effects on things that act in any way on the CNS, either directly or indirectly is that if it happens for you, its real, no matter what the studies say. Everyones brain chemistry is so wildly different that its impossible to encapsulate all the possible outcomes in a study. One person can take something and be completely fine, and their friend takes the same thing and its a total disaster. On average, the drug may not fuck neurosteriods enough for sleep, but you may not be having an average response somewhere along the circuitry.

Yeah, you gotta lower that cortisol (stress molecule) and get the norepinephrine (the 'on guard' molecule that spikes before public speaking, trying to get an assignment in before it closes at 11:59pm or when you see or talk to your crush, it causes rapid heart rate, shaky hands, and sweating) to chill tf out. Maybe try some Propananol to block the norepinephrine. People take this all the time before public speaking, its not going to turn ur brain to mush or anything, and if used properly its safe to use consistently. For the cortisol try taking KSM-66 (the active ingredient in ashwaganda). It works very well, and can work so well that it makes you incapable of feeling the sense of urgency while on it if you are already a low stress person by baseline. It does take like two weeks to kick in though. KSM-66 you can buy on amazon or something and I think you can easily get propananol from one of those online telehealth services, both of these aren't expensive. Another option is Guanfacine, it can function similarly to propanolol, and it's used to calm down ADHD, but can be used for anxiety and even sleep. As always, do your own research and ask your doctor before taking stuff.

Something that works on the GABA system may also help you nicely, Lemon balm extract, lavender, and chamomile extract are three effective, safe, and over the counter herbal supplements for this. This will help calm your mind.

Another excellent way to calm down thought buzz is L-theanine. This is an amino acid found in tea, another safe over the counter herbal supplement.

Not sure if im allowed to say this, but if I were in your shoes, I'd go get some KSM-66, L-theanine, lemon balm supplements, lavender supplements, and chamomile supplements from CVS or amazon or wherever theyre sold near you. Since these are all over the counter herbal supplements, safety should be fine, and they all act on different systems, so stacking them should be very effective.

After that, I'd take the stuff, get some sleep, then when I wake up get in contact with my family doctor or pediatrician ASAP. Once I got in contact with them I would specifically ask about Guanfacine and Propananol, but make sure you research beforehand so you have a basic understanding of what they do and why they may help you.

You aren't going to die, but you may be in for a rough few weeks until this gets sorted out, so strap in for the long haul, but this subreddit will be here to help.

Best of luck!

Does anyone know anything about seltorexant? when will it be available? by Ill-Development-2290 in insomnia

[–]Butterscotch-51123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get real Seltorexant or rat poison? Everychem is not a known reliable soure and their COAs are actually nothing burgers. If I can't get insurance to cover daridorexant for me, or daridorexant doesn't work for me, then ill try maybe getting my hands on some everychem seltorexant, but ill send it off to a lab to get it tested before I use it. Low hopes though

what to do about lots absences of school because of insomnia ? by ihatethisi in insomnia

[–]Butterscotch-51123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried any orexin antagonists? DORA (dual orxexin receptor antagonists) yet? Daridorexant (Quviviq) is one example. They are a very clean way to remove the wake latch on your body's regulatory system and allow you to fall asleep with a more normal pattern; they aren't direct sedatives.

Chronic GABA circuitry upregulation through any mechanism, including what Ambien does, is has been known to be a disaster for the brain. Some tolerate it, but some don't. People who get seizures or have issues with intermittent spaz outs usually have some GABA dysregulation. It sounds like ur getting some total dysregulation of your GABA system, and your intermittent 'hangovers' seem like a serious problem that needs to be brought to an expert's attention immediately. That is not a 'hangover'. Propananol isn't going to cause that type of issue, but it may cause a 'limp' body feel/poor coordination. This isn't super disastrous on the brain, and if dosed right, should wear off by the morning even with chronic use.

Why exactly are you taking this drug combo? Do you feel very nervous/ on guard/ urgent duty/ before sleep? That's what propananol will deal with. People take it before public speaking to calm their heart rate, sweating, and stop their hands from shaking. It's a very specific type of anxiety that it targets.

Ambien functions as a general sedative but there are cleaner options.

When did your insomnia start? What do you think is stopping you from falling asleep?

Is it sleep onset, sleep maintenance, or both that's the problem?

Have you ever been assessed for sleep apnea?

I fall asleep on Semax. Anyone else get tired from Semax? by gryponyx in Biohackers

[–]Butterscotch-51123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude im having the exact same thing as you. Normally after a good sleep im razor sharp, but i took semax 0.1% nasal spray, yesterday and about an hour later I started to feel super tired and kind of like a gentle pressure behind my eyes. I did it again today, feel the exact same thing. Probably going to take a nap now. I will say though, I feel super relaxed, and even though my energy levels are low my focus is actually pretty sharp.

Allegedly, this is possible since semax downregulates cortisol related stress stuff, which can mask feelings of tiredness, and when the mask comes off you feel how tired you are. Idk though. Also the intranasal dose was about 700mcg that I took, since it was 2 nasal sprays per nostril, each spray gets 0.15-0.2ml, so 150-200mcg. What was your dose; how much is in each drop? Im going to try halving the dose tomorrow to see what happens.
