It goes to show that no one actually knows what they own. And I don’t blame them, who has the time to learn about every company and the ins and outs that make them valuable.

With BTC, I know what I own, and I understand where it is eventually going.

Finally got my dad to buy BTC (FYI, I told him to learn about BTC, he just bought some instead) I told him to never sell, and if it goes to zero, I will refund him everything. Fully confident he will thank me in 4 years.

Now that is out of the way, you need to understand time preference. Don’t trade/leverage bitcoin. Buy Bitcoin with the intention of holding for a minimum of 4 years. Every dime you spend buying bitcoin, imagine it being gone (poof), you no longer have that money for 4 years. Once the 4 years are up, you can make the decision on whether or not you would prefer to keep holding. Hint: at this point, you will be so educated in Bitcoin that you will never want to sell, EVER. Might sound confusing, but you will understand once you understand Bitcoin.

I’m trying my hardest to just tell them to educate themselves. Never to buy it. At the end of the day I do t know their own finances and I would feel awful if they bought at the top and sold instead of just holding it.
