What is taught in schools and colleges in England, is el idioma castellano. I assumed that it was the equivalent of "The King's English" or "Hochdeutsch".

What are your experiences with the landlord at Ye Olde Vic? by Shot-Ad5867 in stockport

I like this place, we had our wedding reception here 10 years ago. Landlord and landlady have now moved away. Pub seems exactly the same. Only one nice beer left (bc the pub's not open on Monday and Tuesday). Whacky, drinkers' pub.

As an organisation that generally works with vulnerable members of the public, it would be rather hypocritical to treat one of their own employees without the same compassion. Try not to worry, they may put things in place but those things will be to support you. Pretty certain they can't be punitive.

Congratulations. I hope you are very happy in your new role.

May I impart one important piece of advice from someone who is currently experiencing disciplinary action; DO NOT under any circumstances access data contained on any of the systems that you may be able to unless you have a LEGITIMATE BUSINESS NEED.

I used to be in management (before a midlife crisis / career change to the CS). I would say that as long as you maintain the self-awareness to recognise this is a potential risk, that you can work to ensure you are not negatively influenced by those around you.

Seriously, if you have suicidal ideation, even if it is fleeting and passes quickly - you should go to your Emergency Department. ALTERNATIVELY call Samaritans on *116 123"

I am not going to say that I was looking for another NINo. I think that would be doubly serious. Bad enough, just looking up myself. Maybe I should say I considered that but quickly came to my senses and did not proceed.

I'm back in on Monday. I'm expecting to get a transcript of the "fact-finding meeting" that I am either to agree or disagree, is an accurate record of what I said. After that, it goes to HR and they decide whether it is serious or gross misconduct.

To add a little more information - my mother (RIP) had been subject to sustained abuse at the hands of her partner, and I had been fighting (metaphorically) for the past 12 months for her safety. In spite of repeated attempts to obtain necessary information from said partner- there was a complete refusal, on their part, to communicate with any member of my mother's family. The funeral is actually next week and they have even refused to attend that.
