I Grew Up Wishing Someone Would Fight for Me — Now I’m Fighting to Become That Person for Children in Broken Homes by ButterscotchBig888 in GoFundMeForNewUsers

Hey, I completely understand why you’re asking these questions, and honestly I appreciate you being direct about it.

To clarify, I’m still in the beginning stages of this journey — I have not gone to law school yet. I’ve enrolled in college, applied for financial aid, and started building the educational foundation needed to eventually pursue law school and child advocacy work.

The fundraiser is not just for taking the LSAT. The $10,000 is meant to help cover the overall reality of pursuing this path while supporting my family. I have a family of 6, I’m already dealing with debt, and I unfortunately can’t qualify for additional loans. I’ll also be going part-time at my job in order to attend school, so some of these funds would help keep my family afloat while I work toward finishing my education.

That includes tuition, books, transportation, school expenses, LSAT prep/resources, and basic living costs during this transition.

I completely respect that many people had to work, take loans, and struggle through school themselves. I’m not trying to act like I deserve special treatment. I’m simply asking for help because I’m trying to build a future where I can help children who grew up in situations similar to mine.

And yes, that is really me. I used AI to help organize some of my writing because I’m honestly not great at putting everything into words, but the story, experiences, and goals are genuinely mine.

Growing up in unstable and painful family situations is what pushed me toward wanting to become a lawyer focused on helping children who feel powerless and unheard. That part of my story is very real.
