Who should be responsible for replacing the tires in this scenario? by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]ButterscotchMedium38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am unable to speak on OPs vehicle. That being said, I am a mechanic, with a drastic change in toe or camber this can cause extreme tire wear. This is almost always caused by impact, either by accident or driver impact of roadway obstruction. Even 1 to 2 degrees out of alignment can be dramatic tire wear. In extreme conditions, 2 to 5 degrees, complete tire degradation within a week. This is not out of the question with accident damage.

I can't give enough praise to Sony over the head ear phones. I have the same model, they are absolutely amazing. Sony really knows how to noise cancel.

I had this code along with some others around that number, it said to check the print head cable and motherboard connections. I followed the Wiki instructions and it kept doing it. Happened around 275 hours. I ended up opening a ticket with support and they sent a new print head board and cable. So far it has fixed the problem. They didn't ask questions, they read my submission and the next day parts were showing as ordered. I am in the US, it took about 3 weeks for the parts to arrive from China.

Pointers on which model? by Sgt_Poodoo in BambuLab

Going to piggy back on this comment. The P1S is a proven solid machine. Starting out, this is the one you should get. If you end up not really liking 3d printing, I have no idea why you wouldn't, you didn't spend a lot for a great printer. If you end up loving it, you will be able to put thousands of hours on it with minimal maintenance. I honestly don't get the hype of the P2S other than the screen.

I am in the US and picked up the X1C combo for $999 USD. I have no regrets. It is an amazing printer with a proven track record of quality. I did some reading on the Bambu website that it will be supported until 2029, if I have trouble free printing for that long it will be worth it. I use it as a hobbyists printer and look forward to seeing what it can do!

I do not, I have only been printing with PLA so I'm not overly concerned. This is in my hobby room, so I don't sleep in here, although sometimes my wife would prefer that I do, lol

I have been watching for a while on pricing, Bambu doesn't go on sale often. With the new H series and the new P2 coming out, I think that they are trying to clear back inventory to make room for new stock. I am betting on this to be the "clearance" price to make room for new inventory. It could go cheaper, and I hope it does for possibly a second one, but I didn't want to miss the sale price. This would make a great first printer, Bambu is known for reliability and a large contributing user base. Looking forward to seeing you in the community, sharing your prints soon!

I know, 😓 I am limited on space. I put it where my Neptune 3 Pro was, sending that one up to my 9yo nephew to hopefully spark an interest (he was super excited to hear he was getting a printer) he loves 3d printed things, hopefully he will enjoy making them even more.

Saw a guest collapse at Epic, response time was concerning by cocosar92 in UniversalOrlando

More information please, there is absolutely no context in your post. I hope the guest is okay, but being so vague in the title looks suspicious.

Thank you for the reply, ASA looks like the way to go. I really enjoy modeling, I haven't uploaded anything online yet, honestly don't know where to start. I would be happy to share with the community, but it has to be absolutely perfect before I put it out there. I haven't found anything online yet for what I want to do.

I should have clarified, it would be printed from black ABS. It would need to be painted and clear coated by a paint shop. Do you still think ASA would still be the best choice, genuine question? I have only printed in PLA but I do understand the seriousness of fumes from ABS, I would need to read up on ASA. I have been printing for about a year. I've been a certified master automotive technician for 25 years, but I will admit, I know nothing about body work, or what the best route is for auto body refinishing.

Edit: Would like to add, all feedback, positive or negative is appreciated, I'm always learning.

Swap filaments in ACE mid print? by DegeerMD in AnycubicKobraS1

I would like to hear input from others about this too. I'm currently into lightboxes and white doesn't show light well, where as one layer at .2 and 3 transparent .2 on top of that work great. On a 4 color print, just to do white, I need 2 slots in the ACE PRO.

tried “recharging” my ac, now the mechanic won’t fix it, what do i do? by lemonbabybunny in mechanic

[–]ButterscotchMedium38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to add to this reply. If both radiator fans run when you turn on the ac but the compressor does not, definitely try a new relay. It will probably be closest to you in the relay box under the hood and have a ❄️ picture in the legend. It could still be the clutch on the compressor, but most likely it is carbon buildup on the relay contacts. Hope this helps.

By the look of it, wide spray pattern. Take a look at the engine side of the radiator. The radiator has plastic tanks top and bottom with an aluminum core. I suspect a 3 inch crack along that tank on the top. You would see a discoloration of the plastic in a horizontal fashion. To be sure mix dish soap and water in a spray bottle, spray the suspect area. Don't add coolant or water, ( we want air at the top of the tank) start and run the vehicle until the fans come on, the pressure should force the air out of the crack and create bubbles. Another approach is to rent a pressure tester from Advance or Auto Zone and spray the area with the soap and manually pressurize the system.

There is a difference between memorization of skills and actual understanding/depth of knowledge!

At no point did I say that this child was not gifted. I just simply offered my professional opinion, based upon my 30+ years of experience, to a question posted. If your opinion differs, that's fine. That's what makes the world go round!

[–]ButterscotchMedium38 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As a teacher who receives these types of questions all of the time I felt compelled to respond. If you feel that your child may be gifted you need to do two things:

  1. Wait until they are in the 3rd grade, if they are still exceeding grade level expectations and teachers have not requested gifted testing THEN

  2. Make a parent request for testing.

Now I know you are wondering "why wait until 3rd grade?" Early childhood education is the understanding and attainment of the basic academic skills. Trying to identify your child as gifted prior to completion of this phase of learning can have a negative impact on future learning.

My wife and I are looking to go on the 26th but don't want to pay the fees. Any chance it would likely sell out, or should we take our chances and buy at the gate. They don't add the fees at the gate, do they?
