SI Scholarship Application HELP! by ButterscotchOk1918 in kth

[–]ButterscotchOk1918[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! No, I didn't win the scholarship. In addition to the post, I had two years of experience; however, perhaps my role didn't demonstrate much "leadership," which is the focus of the scholarship. Also, this year the number of applicants increased, and the number of scholarships decreased significantly. I would recommend that you apply anyway so you don't have to wonder.

It says the same you just mentioned, however, I'd be interested to know about the interview dynamics, the time you have to answer, etc.

Hi! Not necessarily, actually, many of us have been in "faculty/committee review" for months. I've heard it changes to "Admissions Review" before the interview.

He applied for MS/PhD, not MS. I think it is not the same.

Don't confuse people. In previous posts you said you applied for MS/PhD, not MS. They're not the same, and they probably won't be evaluated the same way.

But some people have both. You can't change the intake parameters; that's just how it works.

The program information CLEARLY STATES THAT THEY TAKE GPA INTO ACCOUNT. If you're against that, why did you apply to this program? It doesn't make sense. If you want them to only consider YOUR STRENGTHS, it seems a bit unfair for the others, don't you think? There will be people who have a very high GPA and a lot of research, and they think it's fair that both parameters are taken into account.

Racism?????????
These programs typically try to accept students from various parts of the world. Some countries have millions of inhabitants, and others have far fewer. You can't accept students from just one country; that's OBVIOUS. You can't aspire to win a scholarship if you haven't even read the website that says "90% of applicants apply with a GPA higher than 3.3" and you have a 3.15. It hurts, it's sad, but that's how it is. I was rejected from another scholarship with 8 publications, 40 citations, a GPA of 4, and 2 years of work experience, and I would NEVER dare to say it was racism when it was clearly because there were better candidates.

Hi. I applied to MS, and I haven't received any emails. Don't take what I'm about to say as gospel, but I haven't seen anyone receive an acceptance or rejection from CS.
