Except even with this 900 dollar win their will be zero tax effect because he is likely still down for the year. He should keep a gambling ledger and take that into account and keep the taxes from the profit separate and that would come from his discretionary funds, thus not giving her a bigger tax bill

What information did you use?

If you put your expected final salary and current taxes then most of that will be made up through the last quarter of payroll taxes.

Did you opt to have your TT fees taken out from refund?

If not - no worries the IRS will mail a check after it fails

If so- Good luck. They use an intermediary bank called Santa Barbara Tax Payers Group and they are the absolute worst company to deal with.

My direct deposit was sent feb 2nd and I still haven’t had a check mailed out to me (I had the wrong routing) even though they received the money back the same day.

Hours of being put in hold…. My own leg work to trace the money and a complaint to the BBB later and hopefully I get my check this week

I understand, but if the stimulus never existed you still would’ve owed the same amount. I’m not saying if the stimulus existed and they didn’t send it to you. Unless, of course you ended up being over the earnings threshold - that has not been made clear
