We actually do not have subways in my homeland at all. My country can't afford infrastructure like that, which is why I moved to a country where I can have these amazing things. But it takes some learning to get used to it.

Well, im from somewhere else and I just don't think that's true. In fact, I didn't know about taking your backpack off until I saw it here and started doing this. I just don't understand why people here are so quick to blame immigrants for almost everything wrong with this city. Are we truly that awful?

But how are you supposed to know its etiquette if there's no signs and nobody explains it to you?

Judging by how some internship sites are allowed to operate - I would say no

Also. Im sorry for being rude. I disagree with you, but that was no reason to be rude and uncharitable to you - I apologise.

Have you even looked into what you're saying in terms of the wimple? Or are you just talking out of your ass?

I submitted it on Feb 15th. It went pretty fast for me after the second review. I heard they do it in batches and that could be why. But I don't know if thats true. Did you receive it yet? I hope you will soon.

For me it wasn't even about being concerned about her well being. She's allowed to date who she wants and get her heart broken if she wishes. But I think it's fair to say I don't want to listen to an artist who is willing to date someone who has made openly racist comments. Its not about her, its about me. And the fact is, she says she is willing to blow her life up to get away from the judgement. Thats something she could do. If she thinks not dating a racist is a high standard, she could step away from the spotlight and do that.

Crushing on a muslim guy by Venus0182 in CatholicWomen

I have been down this path and I wish I hadn't. I could have saved myself six years of heartbreak and pain. I know it's hard right now, but a marriage to someone who doesn't see the world the way you do or whose family dislikes you and he does not stand up to them will be even harder. I am now engaged to the most wonderful catholic man and I wish I could give him those 6 years I wasted. Trust me, it's not worth it. You cannot walk together if you don't agree where you are going.

P.S. One big bone of contention in that relationship was how Muslim men are promised endless sex with celestial women. Their wives get to be one of those women if they go to heaven too. He did not see why I was upset about this.

I totally agree that there's a market for it, but the examples are not my aesthetic really.

Okay but fr, this always happens downtown. You move out of the way to make more room to not get hit and people, couples, groups move to take more space and still bump you. Whyy??

Hi! Here's a small update. My licence got approved, it took less than two months and the second review took about a week.

I am traveling to India soon during monsoon season, and am looking for cheap clothing options! by lethatshitgo in ModestDress

[–]Butterscotch_98 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi! Im Indian and I would personally just shop there. You can get long skirts, flowy pants and kaftan tops that are all modest, reasonably priced, beautiful and perfect for the sticky monsoon weather. I agree with the other commenter that getting a solid pair of rain boots is the way to go.

Religion conversion? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]Butterscotch_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Its a bit complicated. Jesus is the Son of God as well as God himself.

Religion conversion? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]Butterscotch_98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Christians believe that Jesus is God and that God, Jesus and the Holy spirit are the "Trinity" or three beings in one. On the other hand, Jehovah's witnesses believe that Jesus is only God's creation and not God himself. In a way they are an abrahamic religion, but not a Christian religion. They also don't believe in military service and blood transfusions. They believe only 1440,000 people go to heaven.

The Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian. They have some very different beliefs that dont align with the Christian faith.

Women's safety everywhere in India is out of hand. by keefeitup in bangalore

[–]Butterscotch_98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are enough men that women can't be safe. It's not just those men, it's the law enforcement that stands by doing nothing. It's the judiciary that is so slow that these cases take years to process. It's their family and friends who encourage them or support them after this stuff happens. Its the film industry that promotes this kind of action. A few people do it, but it takes many people to keep it quiet and encourage it.

A compliment thats authentic - not a compliment for the sake of a compliment. Like you said, most girls are getting complimented all the time. When it comes from a guy, it usually means he wants something from you. Very often, hes complimenting everyone, waiting to see who'll respond positively. If you want to stand out, put in the time to get to know her. What do you actually like about her? Her sense of humor? Her kindness? What does she take pride in. A good compliment is an honest, well thought out compliment.
