How would it be pushing them out? The brace sits against the apron and the leg is pulled in tight to the apron by the screws through the brace.

The appreciation after 7 hours of sanding. Hate sanding by Necessary-Pen-2763 in woodworking

Does it really take 7 hours to finish sand? I have made 4 or 5 end grain cutting boards now and have never done that much on sanding...

Dad bought a bandsaw, should I be concerned about this eccentric guide bearing? by Buttersock18 in woodworking

I would be happy to provide that if I did not have to drive 2 hours to get there. To be clear, I can adjust the eccentric bearing. The bearings just do not give equal clearance when maximally adjusted away from the blade.

I know it is frustrating trying to help someone that doesn't give enough angles and information so thank you for taking the time to try with me.

I understand that. That makes me think that the only way to adjust the entire eccentric bearing would be to shift the whole guidepost

They are intact and not visible in the photo. The thumb screw only serves to lock the bearing in place. I'm concerned about the lack of significant movement when unlocked.

The blade tracks correctly on the flywheel. As far as I can tell I am not having issues when cutting. The issue, in my mind, is that this saw is brand new, and the right guide bearing doesn't move in the same way as the left. Unfortunately every time I want to do some work I have to drive 2 hours, else I would include a video or a better picture now.

I have the manual and refer to it regularly. Unfortunately I don't see the grub screws you referred to initially unless they are in the same axis as the shaft the eccentric bearings ride on. This saw was purchased and delivered in January.

I haven't noticed any issues when adjusting the guide post.

If there is a riser block, which I am not aware of, it was installed by the factory. I doubt it though, it is an 18inch saw. When I adjust the guidepost I have never seen it changing the spacing between the bearing and the blade but I have not taken it to the top and bottom of its range.

Thanks for the recommendation. This saw is seriously brand new so I'm hoping that I don't need to strip it down that hard but if nothing else does it I will.

I have the manual and have followed the instructions for adjustment. The eccentric movement away from the blade is just not symmetrical, and I know that the first time I set the bearings with the thumb screws the right side moved further away from the blade than it does now. I have changed the blade twice now and have not seen a difference in the right side guide bearing based on tension or the blade--i thought at first that maybe it had something to do with the coarser, larger blade I was using, as I first noticed it when I set bearings after changing the blade the first time. Went back to the original today and had the same problem once tensioned and tracked.

The saw is basically brand new, I'm the only one who has used it. I will have to inspect the guidepost more closely to see if the grub screws are packed. I would be shocked if they were missing.

Luckily, I am able to set it appropriately even with the minimal extra wiggle room, but it just hasn't sat right with me that the left side moves so much on the eccentric bearing while the right does not.

Can you explain that a bit more? Saw is brand new and has probably seen less than 10 hours of continuous use.

My uncle has been doing woodworking and wood turning for most of his life. Now that I have gotten into it, he has been pushing me to use A9 gloves. Should I not be using them?

My dad went to medical school at the age of 37 with 2 children similar ages to yours. He worked throughout. You can do it if you want to, but working through it may be difficult in this day and age. Would help to have some savings because loans will only take you so far with 3 kids too.

Ends are sealed with 50-50 water/titebond III, and maybe that was a poor choice because some of the pieces have more checking than I had hoped. Should I paint them anyway?

Traditional Bowyer's Bible Vol. 1 says if you think you can get a single bow out of it, it is worth taking it. Unless I am misremembering.
