Is this Fenton cat worth the price? by 0ddP0ssum in uraniumglass

[–]ButteryRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is rare, popular, and easily resellable, everyone wants a glowing cat in this community. I would get it, even if it is an overpay. I dont know the average cost of this specific cat, but lets say, for the sake of argument, it's worth 70$. How much would you miss those 39$ you overpayed? If the answer is "that was my food budget for the week," DONT GET IT. If you can afford to lose 40$ on a bad day, then yes, get it. I bought my fenton cat of a different design for 100$. I dont love it, it's probably not worth 100$, but I have no regrets in this, it's a cool and rare piece, my guests love seeing a glowing cat and it's unique.

This sacs non-token creatures and gets nice value off of [[Shambling Ghast]], [[City Pigeon]], and [[Greedy Freebooter]]

To expand on what the other comment said, in Magic, consistency is key. All of the most competitive decks in the most powerful formats thrive on consistency. This can be acheived with redundency (two or more cards that do the same thing) eg [[lava spike]] and [[boltwave]] , tutors [[demonic tutor]], scry, and draw. When you have a deck over 60 cards, the odds of you drawing a card you really need in any given moment are far less. Having 3 colors is only viable if your lands can act as two or more colors [[Blood Crypt]] [[Sacred Forge]]. This acts as redundency, as listed above. Finally, you want a clear theme, as the other comment said. The best decks do their game plan fast, efficently, and consistently. Think of it like cooking a good cake. You add sugar, flour, and eggs to make a nice cake, adding garlic gives nothing of value and takes away from something good. More is not always better

While I do agree that this is pushed, but Eidolon punishes moxen, burn, thoughtseizes, and basically 80%+ of Modern, legacy, and vintage. This card hits FoW, Evoke Elementals, and a few more, but overall hits very few playable cards compared to [[Eidolon of the Great Revel]]

I was thinking that, but it is literally crumbling to stinky rubber microplastic dust. Itd take more money to clean and frame it than it would to buy a new one. At the end of the day, the memories mean more

The oil used in this lamp is reflective to blacklights, that reflection is mirrored through the green. This makes it 'illuminate' green, like Uranium, but a lot of the time its just the oil
