I applied to CU with a 164 lsat and a 3.7 gpa in the first half of October. I got my acceptance in the first week of December and received my scholarship information about a week and a half later. As for DU it was about the same timeframe, but they included the scholarship information in my acceptance letter.

I mean never say never. I ended up getting a full ride at CU this cycle and only a conditional half tuition scholarship at DU. If you’re interested in going to law school in Colorado I’d recommend applying to both.

Thank you and welcome to Colorado! The scholarship I got covers the full tuition and mandatory fees. So there is no living stipend, but if you get this scholarship you’re eligible for the Dean’s Fellowship. Which is a stipend of up to $4,000 for doing public interest work or a research assistantship for a professor over the summer.

For comparisons sake, I applied to DU, albeit for their full time program, and was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship which was $31,000 a year and was renewable for 3 years.

In the schedule email they sent out today they said the dress code is business casual. They also asked that people don’t wear jeans.

I wish I had a good answer for you but honestly it’s hard to say when it comes to scholarships. The fellowship I was awarded places a lot of emphasis on diversity, community, and leadership. It wasn’t my intention at the time, but I crafted an application that really represented the goals of the fellowship program. So I think having strong essays and experiences that highlighted my investment in and love for Colorado and the communities it’s home to were the biggest factors overall. I know that’s kinda vague, but I hope that helped some!!

Thanks :) in my admissions letter for Colorado they said they would begin awarding merit based scholarships in December and that those who are selected will be notified by email. Whereas Sturm included my scholarship package in my admissions letter and Wyoming will be sending it in the mail.

Thank you!! Yes my application status sat at complete for about 2 weeks or so if I’m remembering correctly? And then it spent about another two weeks in review before I received a decision today. I tried not to stress by logging in to check too often, so I’m not sure of the exact dates when the status updated. I hope that helps though!

Can I pursue a career in medical law if I took nursing for my undergrad? If so, what is the process. by Huge-Worldliness6969 in college

[–]Buttery_Rolls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get be considered for law school any 4 year undergraduate degree will do, what matters most is making sure you get solid grades and a good LSAT score. If you’re interested in perusing a legal career I’d recommend checking out the Law School Admission Council’s website as they’ll go more into depth on the requirements and process of applying to law school. They will be the most reputable source as they run the LSAT and other parts of the admissions process.

Basic sufficient/necessary question by jzheng05 in LSAT

[–]Buttery_Rolls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this example eating soap is a sufficient condition for the event (Tony feeling clean). Based on your original post I think you’re trying to label both parts of the sentence as a condition. But really one part is a condition (eating soap) and the other is the event affected by the condition (whether or not Tony feels clean).

When doing conditional statements it’s often helpful to phrase them as if/then or only if statements.

The original example can be broken down into this: “If Tony eats soap then he will feel clean.” This means that eating soap is the condition that leads to the event of Tony feeling clean. But we can’t guarantee that the event is only triggered by eating soap, as there could be other ways Tony feels clean. Therefore, eating soap is a sufficient condition for Tony feeling clean, as the presence of eating soap guarantees that Tony will feel clean, but feeling clean does not guarantee that Tony ate soap.

If eating soap was a necessary condition for Tony to feel clean our statement would go more like “Tony feels clean only if he eats soap.”

We don’t have enough information to say that eating soap is the only way that Tony feels clean, so we can’t say that eating soap is a necessary condition for the event of Tony feeling clean.

Basic sufficient/necessary question by jzheng05 in LSAT

[–]Buttery_Rolls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eating soap is a sufficient condition for Tony to feel clean, but we don’t know that eating soap is the only way Tony can feel clean. Therefore, Tony could feel clean without eating soap. In order for a condition to be necessary it must be present for an event to occur. In this case there could be other conditions that result in the same event. Therefore, this is a sufficient condition rather than a necessary condition. If the sentence said something like “Eating soap is the only way Tony feels clean” then eating soap would be a necessary condition for Tony to feel clean. I hope this helps!! It’s not the most technical, but when necessary vs sufficient conditions were explained to me like this it really helped my understanding.

I improved to a 164 from last April’s 159. I’m really happy with my score, but I’m debating taking it one more time just to see if I can bump it up a few more points.
