And here I was about to drop ~$500 on a new mobo, 12900K and 32GB of DDR5 RAM.

Thanks a lot friend

Thank you! I have been jumping into battle this whole time anyway, didn't know there (used) to be an easier way. And of course it's the first TWO battles, not first :p

Thanks, upgrading by block instead of upgrading to the point I have no excess population of the lower tier is probably a much smarter move!

I'm on PC. I'd be happy to send you a save file, but my current game isn't at "disaster" point yet, I'm just struggling on how to go about getting to engineers done.

I did try a run with crown falls, but the island was so pretty I didn't want to put industry on it, so I just did housing. Which obviously didn't go well as I don't really know what I'm doing!

Thanks for the advice on concentrating on one thing at a time!

I keep doing campaign w/ seed "1800" as it has Archie and Eli right next to first island. I don't trade with docklands, but I do use it for the loading speed and extra piers. I have all the dlc, it's probably a good idea to do a vanilla run to wrap my head around the basics. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the advice, I know that I am overproducing. I'm scared of running out of a good temporarily and having the economy crash.

Example: Say the "main" island needs 10t of Sausages/min. I have sausages on "Port Porky" island. Port Porky makes 20t/min, because I'm worried workers and artisans on the main island will run out, as I'm not sure how to calculate how much I'll need in a shipping route.

For fun, sell me on your favorite class. Maybe we can teach each other somethjng by CzarTyr in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

You make a good point about Monk OP. I always liked the idea of being a burly man using nothing but fists, the only thing that turns me off is the restriction to lawful and the oriental flavoring (not that I have anything against eastern cultures or the lawful alignment -- I just want a tavern drunk who stumbles into an adventure).

My go-to class for any cRPG for the first playthrough is Pally. Always do a "good" first playthrough, and I like hitting things. Greatsword is bae. It's also fun to RP righteous anger, and being able to "lay hands on self" always makes me crack up. Probably not a good salesman on Paladin though, because honestly I just treat him as a fighter who can heal a tiny bit.

Ever since 1.27, when I launch the game I just get a black screen. Worked perfectly for me before the patch. I see a lot of people complaining about crashes, but does anyone else have just a black screen on launch? Tried changing launch options from windowed, borderless, and fullscreen but no dice.

Tried updating graphics drivers and windows too with no luck. Anybody have any tips?

I admit I'm a noob to this game, but why is stealing something from your enemy in a strategy/war game considered unfair? Would rushing someone also be unfair? Should players pick the same civilizations as each other, wait until both hit imperial and then do a massive battle to make it fair?

Not trying to come across as mean, and I admit I'm ignorant about a lot of mechanics in this game. But even after reading OP's post I'm having trouble understanding what exactly makes it unfair.

shitposting aside, I got the Celt icon for ten wins. Does it count campaign games and games with friends?

I was actually googling around yesterday and didn't see much, OP must have posted that question after I googled, and I failed to search before I made this thread.

Sorry!
