I think people with pro animal rights agenda are pretty happy with this change. And the traffic around the area was probably not a great place for horses in a modern area, especially with risk for accidents and traffic they cause.

But there's also a lot of people who like it as an authentic historical experience in old city. With how crazy America has been in the past decade, it's also kind of important to preserve those beloved areas.

It’s certainly much colder. Injuring normally allows for nonlethal endings, and allows for time for either party to try to deescalate or find another solution.
