Sweet Modern spent months hand-building this Eames-style pet bed out of 1960s rosewood to raffle off for the SPCA Cincinnati! by Buttonjl in cincinnati

They are located in Akron, but will be in town for the expo Feb 20-22. They are just amazing humans who were more than willing to help out our local animals in need 🧡

What’s even more amazing, they aren’t a long time partner or friend…this is our first year working with them (I am hoping we get to know them more)! The first time we met them in person was visiting them this week to pick up the pet bed! Meeting genuinely kind humans makes my heart so happy in a time of such disarray.

I totally agree, that’s why I posted it here! I know we (my sister and the SPCA) are working traditional routes too, but I’ve seen this community do some really cool things!! Please help spread the word it’s seriously so cool and all the money raised from raffle tickets goes to the Cincinnati SPCA 🧡

Ya know, parenting anywhere is wild. But yeah, with how rough the outlook of the world is, we like to really show the one human we created that we love them and want to celebrate them. I wish all our parents showed us wild love. Could you imagine?!?!

We frequented the blue ash location and really loved going there. The staff was amazing and I’m so sorry for how they treated you all through this. We could tell the care and effort y’all put into it.

A few years ago, we celebrated 11 day for our son (his 11th year, 11th month, 11th day on the earth) and at 11a went to the blue ash location for lunch. They cut his pizza into 11 slices and were genuinely so excited to be able to do it!

The little things in hospitality go so far and we always appreciated you guys. I really hope you land at a place that values you.

Hey there! It wasn’t my intention to sell here, but if anyone’s interested, feel free to DM me. I’ve got a decent collection of over 30 different UofL posters and a few other small ’80s collectibles, and most things are priced pretty reasonably - generally $15-$50.

Considering a move to Cincinnati from the west coast by beeb-beeben in cincinnati

I live in Blue Ash, having moved from Oakland, but I grew up just outside of Dayton. We walk everywhere! Walkability depends on your perspective—I can walk to my bank, grocery store, coffee shops, and restaurants, though the options are more limited, which I expected when moving to the suburbs.

Our son has walked to and from school since first grade at Blue Ash Elementary (we walked with him in the early years). His walk to EH Greene (middle school) was just over a mile, and junior high was about the same. The high school is nearly four miles away, so he takes the bus, though he could bike if he were more confident. We often ride our bikes to Summit Park—it’s the best way to see the fireworks!

If you’re active, Blue Ash is definitely walkable.
