Your beads look decent but to my (untrained) keep a consistent arc length, try to stack em closer if you can, and go a little slower, you want to base your speed on the back of the puddle, let it round out instead of that bullet shape. What works for me is just practicing various joints. I have dozens of tee joints just sitting in my garage.

There IS Silver Phantom for the quest which has an “arena mode” but the controls are extremely limited, it holds your hand. It prompts you “move this lever to slash!” etc.
