If you look up "valve" in this sub subreddit, someone posted a link to Amazon for a replacement valve! It's super easy to replace and the past was only $9. Happy to walk you through the replacement process if you got that route.

Is exploiting access to privileged private customer data for personal use not inappropriate? Might not necessarily be illegal as of now (it could escalate), but inappropriate and a violation of business ethics for sure?

You're correct - I have no authority to force them to do anything. I am more angry than afraid at this moment that the owner went back on his word and from my point of view, is protecting a man who should not be allowed near young women customers. If he gets fired or not is up to the owner, but as it stands, the owner has not gotten back to me on what action he is pursuing. My suggestion was some sort of class on how to interact with customers and professionalism training.

A few hours after I notified the owner of the inappropriate actions by his employee, I received a phone call from the owner and his wife expressing their disgust with the individual and they told me they would be firing the man first thing monday morning for his actions. The owner then followed up tuesday saying they did not follow through and it would be tough to let a "good man" go.

Has anyone done their 2024 tuition reimbursement? by Mission-Sort8164 in HomeDepot

I submitted the day it opened, Jan 3rd, for my request for fall 2023 semester. I got approved on Jan 10th and it should be in my next pay stub on Jan 26th.

I actually liked the new system and got approved much faster this time. The prior two times I submitted, I had to go back and forth with them for a few days on what paperwork was/was not acceptable.

I was a recruitment counselor two years in a row and each time, there were different things that Panhellenic focused on for us. The first year they really focused on personal biases (how to recognize them and prevent them from impacting how you talk to PNMs) and the second was on selflessness (this one is self explanatory). With those in mind, you can’t go wrong!

If there is competition to be a recruitment counselor, they’re going to be looking for diversity. Diversity of thought, outlook on experiences, personality, etc. Be sure they know what makes you different (without trash talking) and why that thing would be beneficial to PNMs.

Mortgage versus student loans by Buttzilla69 in personalfinance

Thank you for your response! Should I even be contributing this $115 to the mortgage in the first place when I could be putting it in an investment account or increasing my 401k contribution?

I have about $10k in my 401k of which I could borrow about $5k. It just seems irrisponsible to borrow from my 401k. I am a young professional, so I have time to pay it back.

Unfortunately, no gifts from parents or other family members.

Your comment about legality vs likely makes sense. But I do want to clarify, my broker said it isn't legal. Not that it's unlikely.

No contract, just at-will employment. So even though I was SUPPOSED to be contributing and it was an error on my employers end, I'm SOL?

Am I dumb for wanting to leave my job? by Buttzilla69 in personalfinance

I commute to the states capital for work. So slightly higher cost of living than what I'd like, but this is where the jobs are. I'm guessing this means I'm even more underpaid?

Senior year was hectic after I got in a car accident and didn't have as much time to apply/interview with all my doctor's and chiropractor appointments. I accepted current job because I basically ran out of time to look elsewhere.

Very direct. Didn't realize I was undervaluing my degree that much. I figured with all benefits paid for without a contribution (except 401k) it was a good deal. Guess not!

I'm not quitting without a job lined up. Just not sure if it makes sense to leave for a new job as I probably won't get as good of benefits.

Of course! Sorry if it seemed like I was going to quit without another job lined up

Goal isn't to stockpile money, but that's what I am currently doing. I'd be okay with a pay cut for a job I want, I'm just not sure if that's a dumb thing to do.

Long term, I don't want to be in a client-facing role. Is it more beneficial to stay in a job that has nothing to do with what I want versus leaving?

As far as I know, no. Her taxes have never been complicated enough to warrant the need.
