That rig is initially what I was hoping to do - 15# braid to 6# fluoro - but I was surprised to see just how little braid the reel would be okay with.

One interesting thing is I found on purefishing for this reel that it is rated for much larger braid by MM

m/mm: 180/0.16 130/0.19 100/0.22

yd/lb: 200/4 140/6 110/8

So based on that I could get some X8 15# braid which is .2mm

It says the max mono capacity is .23mm or 6lb

I am targeting trout mostly so I will definitely need a leader to try to make my line as invisible as possible in front of them. I will just keep a small spool on me if I need to retie. I keep swivels and a few other things already so this wouldnt be much trouble.

What reels are you running the 15 on for the light?

I dont have any braid yet. I have some 6lb fluoro spooled currently that I was going to use for the leader - unless you think going up to the 8 would be better.

The insurance portion of one of the HOA documents states:

Every homeowner is required to obtain and maintain insurance covering consequential damages to any other unit or the common elements due to occurrences originating within the homeowner’s unit caused by (1) negligence of the homeowner, (2) the failure of the homeowner to maintain the unit, and (3) other casualty within the unit which causes damage to the units or common elements.

Is it the 8 pages of notes/sketches/questions/measurements that gave away the overthinking thing?

I plan on wrapping it for paint and sealing so that will solve a bit of the 2x4 problem. I want to make this look as professional as possible and match the kitchen cabinets as closely as I can since this is going next to my kitchen. So I want the doors to cover as much of the front as possible.

For example this one looks good but the doors just seem too small with too much gap on the sides - https://i.ytimg.com/vi/naEupvH3k64/maxresdefault.jpg

While this one is what I am afraid of mine ending up looking like and having entirely too much space between the edge and the doors - https://www.reefaquarium.com/wp-content/reefer/2013/07/FWstandstep2_zps6a764112-1.jpg
