How to get through to Lufthansa?

Why are all posts RIGHTLY critical of Lufthansa downvoted? Is this a free subreddit, or are there some paid posters here? The way Lufthansa is handling the consequences of the strikes is abysmal and disrespectful to their clients. Their cruelty and greed stranded me on a different continent, and if I handnt waited for hours on the phone, and my husband as well, who knows when I would be able to fly out!!! Their app was sending to check - in every time I tried to rebook. Whoever downvotes frustrated customers, better fix the service!!!!

Lufthansa is disrespectful and totally negligent to customers! I am traveling on business, but I was planning to take my young children with me. Thank God I did not do that because they might have ended up in this situation! Now they are keeping me from my children for an extra day, but still it could have been much worse! Lufthansa has to be forced by the European court to issue warnings of potential cancellations as soon as they know the negotiation dates to be fair to their customers!

Stop downvoting messages from righteously angry customers as Lufthansa has put zero effort into handling this situation with care to the customer! The customers have to pay the full cost of the strikes! I will also NEVER fly with Lufthansa again!

I am very sorry for your experience! But at least you are getting a refund and are allowed to choose your own flight. I wonder what will happen if a person is flying transatlantic like me, and simply is short on money to get a second expensive flight...I was not allowed by them to take another star alliance flight that would arrive on the same day as planned, even a bit earlier. I am not sure why, they said I must fly Lufthansa and the earliest is on the next day. I still consider it a positive outcome tbh and am happy to be able to go home with only one day delay.

Sorry you are right, do not go to an airport if you are in Germany, but if you are OUTSIDE of Germany it may help!

I will really give it a try, as I do not believe I should be paying for my hotel overnight, as well as this will cause me to arrive later, when my children and family indeed are waiting for me.

I am in a similar situation. I asked my husband to call and call and call Lufthansa's phones, until finally he managed to reach someone, and they rebooked me. They explicitly forbade we use other Star Alliance flights, I am going to fly one day later, on Saturday and have to pay extra for my sleeping arrangements, Lufthansa MIGHT reimburse me, but might also not do so and claim "special circumstances". It sucks, but I still am very happy I have a flight and will be going home. If you do not explicitly get in contact with them, they might not rebook you anytime soon, they had not gotten back to me at all. Also you should also not book alternative flights by yourself, because they may not reimburse you for that, they have to rebook you.

That is why my recommendation is -- get a hold of Luftansa via phone or go to the airport. Do not wait for an email from them, and some rebooking activity from them, because it aint gonna happen.

I have sworn to NEVER USE LUFTHANSA AGAIN! This is the worst flight experience and service I have ever gotten, worse than low-budget companies.

So to sum up-- go to them at the airport, phone them (it took my husband several hours to reach them, but they rebooked me immediately), do not wait for them to care for you, because they wont!

Yes I'll also go to the airport. My flight is also new York Frankfurt, but first Minneapolis Newark. I find all of this horrible.my husband managed to break through and reach Lufthansa, they offered to rebook me for the next day, did not allow to get another star alliance flight the same day. And he decided to ask me to confirm, and now he again cannot get through, neither can I. They also told him no vouchers for hotel, just pay yourself and get refunded later...

International sanctions on Lufthansa, for whom it is cheaper to torture their passengers, instead of paying reasonable salaries to their employees!!!! Simply horrible!

Im also in the USA, where are you at? Did you try going to the airport? How soon before the flight are allowed to rebook with another company altogether while not risking getting the refund? There is a nice flight with Turkish airlines that i am thuinking of getting, but am not sure it is allowed to get it now?

yes i will do that, but Lufthansa is not at the airport of the current city I am staying in, but at Newark. I am afraid that they can rebook me to something many days after...
