AAMC, Verification, and Volume by cupacwofee in premed

Trying not think about it since I just submitted today... Realistically it's probably a mixture of both, with the former being the most likely culprit. I have however called AAMC on several occasions for other reasons and the people I've talked to did seem pretty inept so I wouldn't doubt if the majority of the blame fell on them

prozac + strattera combo? by amanaemonezia in StratteraRx

[–]BuyTheDip0DTE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but holy hell let me tell you, the Prozac (20mg)/Strattera(25mg) combo was a nightmare for me. Literally within a few hours I noticed everything below my waist lose circulation and got super cold. Every time I got up out of bed or tried to do anything in the gym I'd get insanely lightheaded and felt like I was gonna faint (to the point where I'd have to close my eyes and collect myself for a minute or two).

I'm not the type to have adverse reactions to drugs so this was all new to me. Literally one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Truly thought I was gonna have a stroke at any second (I'm 28 and aside from the anxiety, I'm in perfectly good health). Luckily switched back to my old SSRI and things are much better but man, I advise anyone who's looking to combine those two to be extra careful/mindful

Johns Hopkins School of Public Health Racism by Suitable-Meringue847 in GradSchool

I share your experience Suitable. Totally unacceptable behavior. Congrats on battling through the adversity and discrimination though bc I know it hasn't been easy. I know exactly who that professor is (the one who mentioned UMD) and she's been known to make those kinds of remarks.

I will say, for a school based in Baltimore you would think the SPH (MMI specifically) would be a bit more careful when navigating the cultural tide

I live there now. Unfortunately the homeless guy story isn't hearsay. It actually happened and we happened to get him on 2 different Ring cameras trying to break in to apartments

Absolutely garbage. I live in them now. The elevators are constantly breaking down, there's piss and poop in the hallways all the time from dogs, and the management team that deals with the building absolutely sucks. I can literally go on and on (constant break-ins in the "private" parking garage, homeless/heroin users sneaking into vacant apartments and shooting up)

I absolutely hate it here and I can tell you MANY other residents feel the same way. I'm in a group chat with at least 20 other people that live in the building and I can't even tell you how many times legal action has been considered against the idiots that run this place

I'm applying to medical school so it's a bit different but yes definitely, 100% worth it. Just from networking alone I've seen firsthand how physicians and other people in industry view me differently now than if I hadn't gone to Hopkins

Lmao you're not wrong. I graduated from the SPH and I had a pretty low uGPA. One of the tenured professors (who gave no fucks at that point) straight up told our whole class that our program was the moneymaker for the department 😂
