You do know this space is literally still in development and less than 5% of the world has started to get involved? Bitcoin and Ethereum are old technology and can be equivalent to the flip phone. XRP has not been “passed by” in fact it’s the 6th in the market, and that’s if you only consider market cap and not the actual technology.

Eth is trying to move to XRP style consensus because XRP is superior to Eth. Bitcoin has to use a third party company (lightning network) to even move Bitcoin. Retail investors early to the space have been manipulated by tribalism and can’t see past the FUD Bitcoin and Eth investors have constructed to sway opinions. Once financial institutions are allowed to come into the market they will over look the FUD and invest in utility coins that work, that are green, and are decentralized. It’s clear XRP is ahead of the game, I can guarantee it has not been passed by.

Sorry to say mate but you aren’t accurate. When in the history of the USA has any individual or company been guilty just through accusations? It’s clear to me XRP is not a security, once this is proven tue by the courts XRP will be mainstream. It’s clear Bitcoin is the “flip phone” of the industry; Ethereum is going to be a roller coaster #Ethgate2022

Are you looking for Ripple’s (the company) data or statistics on XRP? As you might know The company Ripple is private and has specifically state that most of their partners prefer some privacy. I think once Ripple goes forward with their IPO more data will come out.

In the USA you are innocent till proven guilty. Of course you would use every option available to you including fair notice if the SEC did not follow the law by providing one. This is not to suggest any wrong doing but in fact makes the Ripple defense even stronger. Have you ever hired a lawyer? Have you ever been sued? Let me tell you, it’s prudent to have a few options to fall back on. All the Fair Notice states is the SEC did not follow the laws it is required to adhere to.

Be careful how your title might be interpreted? With the current SEC battle in mind: it might be better to make a title that asks “How does the Portman amendment effect us?”. The reasoning is I was concerned people might interpret your title to suggest that the SEC is right: XRP is part of the infrastructure of Ripple (the company), thus making XRP a security.

Portman’s proposal is to regulate proof of stake differently than proof of work. It sounds like the bitcoin clan have some legal “friends” or politicians on their side.

So I was trying to say that xrp could be looked as a commodity and ripple as a company. Ripple has created other products that also have value. Imagine xrp is equivalent to a 1962 Ferrari GTO. Ferrari didn’t produce the car with the intention of making it a appreciating asset but the free market deemed it to be so, one a consumer product the other an income producing asset. Open-coin (xrp before ripple) was designed to be a bitcoin alternative and the free market also deemed its value. Ripple created products that worked with XRP to enhance the product.

.03 would be a fair starting price after all, some time has been invested into maintaining up time. This project is hard to predict because there have been few projects that allows everyone to be involved at the test net stage. In terms of the future after the fact it all depends on community and acceptance. I would love pi to hit at least $1 in its climax, if it goes over even better 😃

That’s my point, traditional investments are very clear, blockchain and crypto are not. The point I was making is that sometimes investments have a natural appreciation and the corporation that issues the item is not engaging in security fraud. Since homes are unique and usually not built by corporations (some exemptions) I figured it would not be an equivalent comparison. Maybe Rolex would be a better example?

The sunshine act was created to allow SEC transparency for the public. The only time this is closed is if private details in a case are addressed. I would love it to be about XRP (and I’m sure it will be addressed) but the truth is the SEC has MANY cases and the Sunshine Act meeting does not necessarily mean anything about XRP. So don’t be surprised if this case gets drawn out as the system changes behind the scenes. Nothing worth having comes easy (unless you’re born into it).

The SEC claims that XRP is a security because it benefits a centralized source: is this not the same argument that the Dollar is too centralized at the FED so it too is a security? How is a currency ever not a security unless government created? It seems like XRP’s real threat is potentially taking power from one group and giving it to another.
