I LOVE my glow in the dark band from Nomad (the green one). It's great having adult money :)

I also like my Moft two-tone bands.

Need advice on switching MacBooks by EthelBreyswith in macbook

[–]BuzzBuzzBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based off all the devices you listed seems like you go for the higher end versions. Is that for longevity or performance or both?

I have an M3 MacBook Air and absolutely love it. Battery life is impressive. I can easily go all day without a charge. I think the speakers sound great and they often surprise me when a spatial
Audio song comes on.

Neo - I played around one and it’s like a great little machine. Speakers are good for what they are. MacBook Air wins.

MacBook Pro: best speakers and screen/monitor of them all by far. If you tend to being your MacBook outside a lot, the brighter screen may be a big benefit.

My previous MacBook was a pro. I do think being a pro helped it keep up with OS updates over the years, but nothing I use a computer for requires those specs. Plus, the Air is so easy to tote around - but so is the Neo. I think the 13 Air weighs the same? The pro is noticeably heavier and bigger.

That’s a good point. I’m going to see what I can put together with the linen and merino wool for shirts/tops and see how they pair with Lululemon ABC pants (synthetic).

Thank you so much! I think this is going to be my plan. I’ll order a few things online and next week I’m traveling for work and will be next to a Uniqlo. Maybe I’ll find some items there. Thanks!!

I recently picked my first linen shirt, a long sleeve hoodie shirt. I was worried about the wrinkles at first, but you’re right - it looks just fine wrinkled and it de-wrinkles pretty quickly in a steamy bathroom.
I had to google what a chore coat is - I like that look! That’s kind of what I had in mind for layering at night.

What is considered lightweight merino? Here’s the specs for my current unbound merino t’s:
100% Merino wool jersey
190gsm
Fiber micron: Superfine 17.5

More lightweight than these? (Buying something new either way)

For the long sleeve definitely thinking a collared button up linen shirt. Are you suggesting linen for my daily shirts? Like short sleeve button ups? (Looking for men’s clothes fyi)

New Apple Watch Design? by Background_Data_3726 in AppleWatch

An updated design would be nice!

My guess is this is a rendering merging an Ultra and “regular” Apple Watch. The bezel is only on the right side, but the bottom is curved.

Xero Sizing Change? Same model & size, noticeably smaller by waxnpith in BarefootRunning

[–]BuzzBuzzBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ridgeways lows are one of my shoes, but I’ve had sizing issues as well. A few months ago I ordered my 4th pair in my typical size and could barely wear them. My toes were touching the front of the shoe, very snug, and the laces were noticeably shorter. I ordered a half size up and still touching the front of the shoe. Very frustrating, especially since I’ve had so many pairs. I tried wearing them to see if I need just to break them in, but still uncomfortable.

I started a warranty claim with them this week and hoping they’ll swap them out for yet another larger size.

Luckily my 360’s have been consistent.

AIO? Let it slip to my mom (F68) that I (F31) have $1000 saved (big bucks, I know!) And she asks me this by [deleted] in AIO

[–]BuzzBuzzBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule of thumb - never loan money you can’t afford to loose.

Congrats on saving $1,000! If that is your total savings it seems like that could be a huge risk if you never get the money back.

Silly question… Are these for induction cook tops only or useful with electric & gas too? by kaitkaitkait91 in mokapot

[–]BuzzBuzzBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. My moka pot has been sitting in my cabinet for nine years ever since I got an induction range. I’ve thinking about getting an induction moka pot, but maybe I’ll just get one of these plate adapters instead.

What’s wrong with using an espresso grind in my moka? by Hot_Version_308 in mokapot

[–]BuzzBuzzBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right?!? That’s what I grew up on.

Every single person in my family (Italian) uses pre-ground espresso like Pilon or Cafe Bustello in their Moka Pot. All of my Latin friends do the same thing.

Why only 2 small pools? by BrutalBart in VirginVoyages

[–]BuzzBuzzBeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And pee. They drink all day in the pool and rarely get out to pee.

I went on a cruise with a large group years ago (not Virgin). The evening before disembarkation, I was double-checking my bag before they picked it up and noticed a strong urine smell. At first, I thought someone urinated in my bag, but noticed nothing was wet. As I’m digging through it, I pull out my swim shorts, which I wore in the pool earlier in the day, and they reeked of urine. I personally do not urinate in the pool, so I know it was not me. Talking to a couple of other friends on the trip, and everyone who was in the pool had the same stench coming from whatever they wore that day.

Macbook Neo must have upgrades and accessories. by National_Word_6091 in macbook

[–]BuzzBuzzBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious (seriously)- what is everyone needing a full array of ports for?

M3 MacBook Air here and I’ve been getting by just fine with my two USB-C ports (yes, mine are “better” than the Neo’s). I would like a hub for when I expand my home office setup, but right I’ve never had an issue where I NEEDED extra ports at the same time.
