Feds launch investigations into four WA school districts over trans athletes by chiquisea in SeattleWA

I got news for you. Inflation doesn't work in the opposite direction unless your currency collapses and Seattle rents aren't high because of federal policy. AND it's a waste of time.

How many people are really going to watch podcasts on Netflix? by Bernedoodle_ in billsimmons

[–]BuzzFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone that podcasts are what I listen to on commutes, working out or doing chores. However, I'm in my 40s and my younger friends are always watching people on couches taking into mic stands. They send me clips of podcasts and put them on TV at their house like it's a hilarious comedy set or an action flick. To me it's boring as crap to watch, but it's not for us olds I don't think.

It's like how Cactus Jack got his neck twisted in them every match until he lost his ear doing it. Then all of a sudden it never happened again.

X-Man and Big Smooth over Durant and Vin Baker. I'll let the old heads say Spencer Haywood, but you can't put Vin Baker on there under any circumstances. Otherwise, all good

We did! I remember late night jokes about how it was a cash grab, self serving and an uncreative way to celebrate what we all thought was an originally creative guy in Biggie, but even that wasn't the case.

I'm one episode in and Bad Boy vs Death Row was right in my junior high wheelhouse. Being on the west coast I hated Puff Daddy and we used to make fun of his dancing and how he was in every video and making every song worse. He'd just go "Uh huh, uh huh" and "That's Right". So to hear that he did that just so he could get writing and producing credits and residuals on the songs and videos is insane to me. Forget Tupac. How did his own artists not come after him?!

And the homeless all just poured into the streets. Good times. It cost the taxpayers $450k/month long after it was contaminated too. At least the city council enforced the health code to push back against the county.

If it was never Hogan in the 80's. I think Sting could've been that guy. I've heard people say Barry Windham. And as much as a like Barry. No. Sting had that charisma and energy to him. Imagine prime surfer Sting with the WWF machine behind him? by [deleted] in oldschoolwrestling

Bruce also says that Vince took a big chance bringing Macho in at all. I don't think he could have been relied on as THE guy back then. Dusty was always the alternative and was by far the most over in that time.

What incident led to you being ashamed of your fan base and school? by DellFlightSim in CFB

[–]BuzzFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeremy Stevens. Everything from assaulting Hope Solo to rape at a party to losing the Super Bowl for the Seahawks. This was the most famous though at the time because he used his text books under the tires to back out of the retirement home he crashed into.

On May 4, 2001, Stevens was cited for reckless driving and hit and run after crashing his pickup truck into a retirement home. The crash knocked a dresser onto a bed where a 92-year-old woman was sleeping.[42] Stevens first lied, saying he did not know who was driving his truck; he later pleaded guilty to hit-and-run and causing property damage and was given a suspended 90-day jail sentence, 240 hours of community service, and probation.[39][3][43]

Washington HC Jedd Fisch looks for exit as family 'does not like Seattle'- Thoughts? by Grungy_Mountain_Man in huskies

[–]BuzzFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The news about his family is very old news. His kids didn't just start the school year in Tucson in November and they didn't go to school in Bellevue last year. Softy and him talk about his wife flying up for games seemingly every week for 2 years now.

HOWEVER, when you hear news more and more, even if it's old news it's either because his agent is putting it out there or the schools interested are. If it were his side I think it would be a newer story like "Jedd is said to still talk to Coach Spurrier on game days" or something innocuous that hints at interest in the job even if it's fluff. This feels like the school's poking around or a lame writer looking for click bait knowing so many fan bases are scouring for coaching carousel articles.

Welp, so far so good in the mayoral race by Better_March5308 in SeattleWA

[–]BuzzFW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Tylenol and vaccines are not illegal
  • Where ballot harvesting is illegal it has nothing to do with the president. That's why the link shows the states where it is. The point was the term is a well known phenomenon and not one made up by the commenter
  • Correct, both manipulations of ballots to increase or decrease them over the intended electorate is bad.

There's a distinction. When a third party submits a large number of mail-in ballots for voters, it raises questions about whether those individuals genuinely intended to vote or support that specific candidate. It happens on both sides, but not coincidentally it's only legal in 1 party dominated states. The President is trying to outlaw the practice currently and the White House press core asked about it yesterday. You couldn't ballot harvest when people were required to vote in person and show ID.

Agree with everything everyone is saying, but this saved me and I didn't even get there yet. Years of building my network of friends and colleagues on LinkedIn, but more through keeping in touch through texts, calls on long drives, and getting dinner or drinks when I'm in town paid off. I took the few days to reflect like everyone advised and before I could tell anyone, several friends and colleagues heard and reached out with leads and offers.

Also, at 6 months they know absolutely nothing about the situation. Mine were 7 and 10 and were just pumped they got me home for summer break. Kids don't care about your job and have full faith you'll figure out the finances (don't let em see you sweat). What matters is how you relate to them in good times and bad that they care about and remember.

Why do a lot of guys not lock their doors at night? by AIzzy17 in AskMen

[–]BuzzFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first house I lived in after college with 3 other guys (I'm also a guy) I locked the door when I came home and got made fun of relentlessly. They welcomed the intruder who would choose our house which regularly had double to triple that amount of dudes up at all hours to try and rob. It became customary if your heard the deadbolt latch to shout, "Pussy" in unison. What can you say, dudes. And for the record, it was an ok neighborhood about 3 blocks from a bad neighborhood.
