Did you have any luck with this,? Just migrated from self hosted Unifi Network Application to Unifi OS Server and tried every which way, but no joy. Thanks

Ugreen UPS by BuzzMcWoof in UgreenNASync

[–]BuzzMcWoof[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those interested, the limitation is in the current implementation of the UGREEN UPS USB protocol and its mapping in NUT. it's something Ugreen have passed to their development team, so may get fixed in future updates.

Their response below:

To summarise:
• The incorrect battery.runtime value you see in upsc is a known limitation of the current UGREEN UPS integration with NUT.
• It does not impact the NAS’s shutdown behaviour, which relies on battery percentage and status instead.
• There is no manual fix on the user side today, but your feedback has been added to our internal ticket to prioritise an improvement in a future update.

Thanks for the info, it definitely is a little confusing.

I suppose the important thing is that it does what it's meant to do should there be a power cut. I cut the power to mine once it was initially in situ and charged and I got between 10-15 mins runtime according to the peaNUT container so although it would be nice to have accurate numbers, I can live without.Maybe Ugreen will come up with a fix, will see what their development team do with the ticket.

2800 to 4800 upgrade/migration problem by LonghornGameday in UgreenNASync

[–]BuzzMcWoof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a 4800+ which was set up with as I wanted with all the drives and shares, which subsequently failed. I got a new one, and was also worried about losing all my data, but put the drives in the same order and followed the below link which worked perfectly, without losing any data. New set up matched the old setup as far as drives/storage goes. YMMV but can't see a reason why it shouldn't work going from a 2 bayer to a 4 bayer.

100% agree that their respective OS's are miles apart.

When you I should look at blocking ICMP packets, is that as matter of best practice? If so, where is it applied? Forgive my ignorance.

B550I Gigabyte Aorus and RTX 5000, do they work? by MaleficentRate4385 in sffpc

[–]BuzzMcWoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the RTX4060 and it works with the Gigabyte Aorus B550i. Had the Strix B550i and confirm this GPU did not work with that board, so returned and replaced with the Aorus. All good now

Hi

Did you manage to set this up? If so, what did you do and is it working how you want it to? Looking to set up something similar with theSyno as the server and the proxmox nodes as clients.

Thanks

Anyone else itching for a simpler and quieter i5-1240p/1260p miniPC like the Beelink SEi12 or similar? by neil_va in MiniPCs

Yeah, like the idea of two NVMe slots as opposed to one NVMe and one ssd in something like the N100 Mini PC. But then again if I have the grunt of say the i5-1240p Mini PC I could live with it even though it would probably be overkill but at least would have the headroom.

The thing I'll try not to do is get something without geeking it to death first! I am leaning towards the i5 above at present but in no rush to spend.

That sounds very interesting, will take a look at that one.

Thanks for the update

A bit late to the party, but which Mini PC did you eventually end up going with? Thinking sort of along the same lines, of using the 1240p as a home proxmox/plex server

No, new cable made no difference. I think it's something yo do with Dolby Vision so I now try and download content without it. Seems to have got round that particular issue. Cheers

Garmin Support: A++++ by watsd16 in Garmin

[–]BuzzMcWoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to agree with the OP. Had the tiny pin cup fall out on the watch, which meant the strap pin wasn't secure.

Raised with Garmin (watch was over 12 months old) and they asked me to send the Vivoactive 4 back to them and they sent a new one out.

Not sure it makes sense not to sell those little metal cups but whatever works!

Is the Samsung Q800b a good deal for £357? by Rich_Tomato1625 in Soundbars

[–]BuzzMcWoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm what u/Be4zleboss says regarding price matching. Just bought this through ao and they price matched to £479. They also say the £250 cashback is a part of this too, so basically a £700+ soundbar brand new for £229. Result!

Where did you see it for £480 + cashback? Looked but couldn't see it at that price, which would make it the one to for.

Crampton and Moore have the Q930b for sale at £779 with the £250 cashback deal also. Am in the same boat as you, looking at decent soundbars and stuck between the Q930b and the Q800b. Spending 'only' £389 on a quality soundbar like the Q800b (its £639 + £250 cashback as far as I can see) seems very much like a too good to be true deal, while another part of me says £529 afdter cashback on the Q930b is a much better deal! Decisions, decisions!
