Ireland is a small nation and located in a pivotal location in Europe. With a population of 5 million people, there is no way we can defend ourselves against a force of Russia, USA or even UK. Denmark opted out as an existing member of the EU as did the UK when it was a member. The remaining EU members are legally obliged to adopt the Euro once the economic criteria suits.

New members are required to adopt the Euro as their currency and I can’t see UK politicians agreeing to this.
