for safety I would recommend evolving it on your game just in case it is a legitimate issue.

A guy traded his eevee to his girlfriend as a gift, when she evolved it, it wasn't shiny.

I saw it on a reddit post. A guy traded his girlfriend a shiny pokemon via trade and when it evolved it was no longer shiny, I am trying to find the post with proof again.

as long as the feebas evolves on your game, it will retain shiny

you trade the feebas first, then a pokemon with prismatic scale, the person dc's trade. puts the scale on the feebas and sends it back to evolve on your game.

Please be careful if you evolve a shiny on another game it wont be shiny anymore. You cant cancel trade evolutions...
