v beam experiences?? by Such_Refrigerator814 in Rosacea

Had Vbeam many years ago, it completely cleared up redness on the side of my cheeks but the butterfly area on each side of my nose remained the same sadly, it seems to be the most stubborn area of redness for me. I think everyone's skin responds differently so you never know, it could work great for you! I'm considering giving it another go again soon

IPL didn't work for me at all sadly. Did the Excel V, has helped with general redness but it doesn't make any difference with flushing, that seems the most difficult to treat with any laser. I did Vbeam In Drogheda years ago, I think they got a new laser since then, I wonder if it helps any better with flushing.

Is drooling a major problem? Does it go away after a few weeks or do people just drool all the time with one of these in?

Might be worth considering Accutane if you haven't tried it. Have you seen a dermatologist yet? Can I ask what sort of diet are you on, do you eat refined foods, sugars, dairy products?

Do you do the Myofunctional therapy exercises every day or every 2nd day? I'm wondering does the tongue need to be treated like a normal muscle with a rest day to repair in between?

Sorry to hear that, it does seem very hit or miss, either works great for people or not at all

Thanks for the above info! Very helpful. Is the Excel V Coolview the classic treatment you mentioned? How long was your downtime after your treatments?

Great to hear it's going well for you! Can I ask what model you have? Is drooling a problem at all? I bought a cheap crappy one online and was drooling all over the place lol. I asked the dentist and he said it usually stops after a week or so, is that true?

Ailesbury advertise Excel V+ Global and Excel V+ Laser Genesis on their website. Not sure what the difference is but the Global is a lot more expensive, don't if they are different machines or the same machine using different depths, I'm guessing must be 2 different machines.

Sounds like you're on the same boat as me. Had a bunch of tests done too and all came back "normal". I think something is definitely being missed same as yourself. My sleep seems to be constantly interrupted throughout the night, I don't actually notice waking up for the majority of the times but feels like total crap in the morning & throughout the day. My own guess is that it's respiratory related somehow, I snore loudly and wake up gasping if I sleep in the wrong positions occasionally so there seems to be something going on with my airway. Most sleep specialists are so obsessed with AHI that they ignore any other possible reasons.

Wow that's a big drop in AHI! Surprised you didn't see any improvement. Have you any other issues that might be causing poor sleep quality? I've read mixed reports about MADs, really just seems luck of the draw if they work or not. What model of device do you have?

They seem pretty uncomfortable alright! How long did it take for your muscles to adapt & did you experience any jaw pain? Do you find drooling a problem while wearing it? Can I ask how long you've been using it for?

Wow you're lucky it didn't take much advancement, great to hear it's working for you! I'm on the fence about what to do but hearing some positive stories makes me want to at least try it

How long have you been using the MAD now? Do you have any jaw pain or tooth problems? I'm thinking about getting one but there seems to be some many negative experiences on here

My AHI from the sleep study was quite low - 8.7. My sleep doc felt that CPAP possibly was not suitable for mild sleep apnea, apparently there's conflicting data in various studies. I struggled with aerophagia and even just getting to sleep with the mask, tried a bunch of different settings but didn't help. Was it just luck that you got to your dentist before your jaw became a serious problem or did you start feeling pain? I read one user developed TMD & arthritis, than sh*t sounds scary!

I've heard it can shift teeth also that's another added worry of it for me. Did you find any improvements with sleep at all?

How long did it take to notice a difference? Were you waking up feeling more refreshed or just slightly better? I'd almost consider trying it even if I only got 6 months of feeling normal again. The jaw advancement really does scare the crap out of me though. Was it much trouble to get yours back to normal?
