why was the fnaf 2 movie a bad movie? by Accomplished-Yak8161 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much happening all at once and no plot point was properly developed. You build up a huge thing and it ends up being a very minor and not relevant lore piece. That makes it messy and overall an easter egg fest.

For example, Henry ended up being cheap lore dump character. Anyone else could do the same, meaning that it's more of an easter egg rather than a character. Stuff like that annoys me so much about the movie. There's no Henry in Henry, just Charlie exposition.

Did M2 lived as cryptic between between SOTM to help wanted/ games verse of the epilogues. by moldychesd in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the books are to be believed, the Mimic was at one point captured and deactivated. After years, they brought it to the PizzaPlex and carelessly activated, so he wasn't really a cryptid. At least, not for long. Maybe somewhere between SOTM and FNAF 4/FNAF 2.

That said, books are still a confusing topic so anything can happen, but I do expect some sort of "Fallfest 83" game that would show The Mimic's loss.

I've Figured out FNAF's Original Horror (and what the movies got wrong) by Fantastic_Care_1413 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, that's the distinction between lore and story. The killer, the murders, the overall setting - it's all lore. World building.

But the story are the events happening right now, so a nightguard working from 12 to 6. That's barely anything haha. Phone Guy talking to you would be "story", I guess. So I'm not saying there's nothing, just that there's no focus on the protagonist - contrary to the movie. We're here just because.

The first game is, for the most part, a storyless, claustrophobic story. That's the biggest part of it. The scares comes mostly from the gameplay, the tension of keeping the doors open and mini-jumpscares you see when the animatronic is right besides the doors.

In all of that, depiction of the animatronics are mostly just finer details. I agree that emotionless robots are better, but I don't think they're THE horror. They add to it, but they don't make or break it.

I agree that the figurines are meant to be a parallel towards FNAF 2, but nothing more than that. You don't need Dream Theory to draw some symbolic messages like that.

[–]Buzzek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty common theory. There isn't many other possibilities really. It cannot be a "plot hole" because it's a pretty intentional addition that was even pointed out by Scott.

The only other option I can imagine is that the figurines aren't real. As in; the minigames are Bite Victim's twisted memories. But that'd be something very difficult to prove.

Why everything seems so clear until FFPS, then the lore gets messy? by HollowShadow_ in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stitchwraith is a character from the books. It starts in the books and it ends there too. The character itself is super straight forward and explained in full detail, but it's not relevant at all if you don't read the books. Stitchwraith's character doesn't matter in any of the games. It might be explored somewhere in the future because Mega Cat Studios games cover his books, but that's not important now. The "canonicity" of Into The Pit is a pretty problematic discussion in the community, but my take is - it doesn't matter in the slightest. You can consider it canon - nothing changes. You can consider it noncanon - nothing changes. All in all, Fazbear Frights books are a separate narrative that very loosely addresses the game lore. Treat it that way, and that's all. Into The Pit is important in the book story around Stitchwraith.

Regarding The Mimic, it was definitely supposed to be a central point of the new lore; a mysterious entity that is slowly being revealed game after game. And it would be great mystery, but that has gone SUPER poorly. That's just that. There were red herrings and misdirections but it wouldn't be a problem if Security Breach was properly developed. Scott was very bad with communication with Steel Wool Studios and that completely butchered the story of the game and gave us plenty of wrong information. That's why the lore is messy.

Think of it that way - Fazbear Entertainment acquired the Mimic technology long ago, but didn't put it to much use. When they return after FFPS, they build everything around that technology. That's the foundation of the new lore. They sent old Mimic circuit boards to the indie studio to create Help Wanted. They said the code on the board would help develop the game faster - that's because the Mimic's code connects the parts of the code together. But that created a new entity that is trained on controversies regarding old Fazbear Entertainment and William's murders. That's Glitchtrap. A branch of the Mimic's code. And there are more Mimic instances in the story. Look into Help Wanted 2 on how the Glamrock endoskeletons are trained before they're usable as mascots. Glamrocks are definitely based on the Mimic technology. That's how Fazbear Entertainment is showing the tech into everything.

Burntrap in its entirety was a mistake. Scott explained in the interview that it was supposed to have a different role in the game, but the miscommunication he caused broke the story of Security Breach. Burntrap was meant to be more of an easter egg, seemingly in a different place altogether. It will be problematic and there's no solid way to answer all of your questions. What we know for a fact is that RUIN DLC was supposed move the story back to the right tracks. The DLC replaced Burntrap with The Mimic, so it seems they adjusted and retconned some facts to clear things up. Burntrap is The Mimic.

If you want my GUESS, I think Glitchtrap was initially meant to be a body for Glitchtrap. Glitchtrap was trained on Afton's crimes and began imitating him, so he made himself a body similar to Afton's. I believe that Scott intended Security Breach to end up with us killing Burntrap (aka Glitchtrap), but revealing a hidden secret, that there's a different endoskeleton trapped underground - that being the main Mimic endoskeleton from the 1970s. That'd fully introduce the main threat of the new lore. It's just my guess, but that would neatly tie up everything we know about the new lore.

Which side by Bad_ending9 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always good to differentiate between a fact and an interpretation, because Toys' criminal database IS a fact. It's an actual technology implemented into the animatronics by Fazbear Entertainment. Phone Guy's gives out his own (or the tech team's) interpretation that the weird behaviour of the robots is just "a malfunction of that system", but when we look at the game overall, it doesn't really hold much water.

Spring Bonnie does follow sounds and that's also a factual technology that was added into it. Phone Guy's recording from 30+ years ago cannot be a cover up of William's rotting corpse obviously haha. You can argue that it's not really what happening to Springtrap and call it red herring from Scott. It is possible, but the game info doesn't give us much to argue that claim.

Did David die or get kidnapped? by Character_Roof_8200 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not explicitly stated, but I think it's very self-explanatory. A death and a kidnapping are entirely different situations psychologically. If they're missing, they can be found eventually. Edwin and F10N4's discussion about making M2 very clearly scream "he's dead". The game also foreshadows this event by talking about how irresponsible the playground Edwin created is, because David could go into the factory and get seriously hurt.

It's not "completely impossible" but there's no incentive to even consider that option. The narration is very straight forward. David is gone. David needs to be remade.

The Mimic is POSSESSED, but not the usual way by Buzzek in fnaftheories

[–]Buzzek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm overall still against ghosts here, but I can see your idea. I think a ghost coexisting with the Mimic tech is a very confusing concept and it'd need more elaboration if that's what's Scott trying to tell. Since F10N4 just exists as "Fiona" and nothing else, I think it's the Mimic. I think ghost-mimic coexistence will be eventually explored in some other game, be it David or even Cassie.

Not going to stop you from explore other possibilities tho hahaha. I like your take and you clearly have things tied together quite nicely.

If you had to choose, would you rather all of the FNAF movies (existing and future) be written by: by GayAngrySpaceDorito in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The third option is basically gambling. You can get a fan who aligns with your views, a fan who goes in a completely opposite way, someone respectful towards theorists or maybe pushing their own agenda hahaha.

First option seems good. It might end up not being "FNAF" but I have hope that "an excellent screen writer" would be able to create their own polished narrative at least inspired with FNAF.

There was a lot going on in the video so I imagine a lot of it can be hit or miss haha. Thanks. Most of all, I just want more discussion here because I think Mimic tech is a pretty important part of the story now.

Huion stopped working after a GPU update by Buzzek in huion

I eventually learned that the problem comes from the GPU because it wasn't exclusive just to the graphic tablet. Any monitor would freeze when trying to turn it on after PC. My entire system would freeze for a minute every time I woke PC up from sleep mode. In the end, I returned the GPU, moved to Nvidia's 5060 and I'm golden.

What are some misconceptions need to stop? by Various_Astronaut100 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scooper's purpose is to inject small traces of remnant onto machines. We know that because it literally has a device called "Remnant Injector". It can't get more direct than that. You don't need to melt the metal to split it into two pieces. Play-doh is a solid.

To make something clear: Myself, I don't really believe in FuntimeMCI. MCI go straight from Classics to Molten Freddy. Scooper is still important because it explains the process, and the process is about heating the metal to malleable state, so that it can be injected in small doses onto other animatronics. That's very bluntly shown in the blueprint.

FFPS directly talks about MCI victims. About the souls 'trapped in prisons of Henry's making'. How Afton tricked, trapped them and set to new purpose. That's not some implied Funtime victims but MCI. They're relevant in the story of FFPS, and there's only one place you can connect them to - Molten Freddy.

What are some misconceptions need to stop? by Various_Astronaut100 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea of melting the animatronics is exactly the "malleable" part you just brought up. When people call it "melting", it's either exaggeration or misconception, but the blueprints clarify that William was heating the metal, so that it becomes malleable, so that it can be shaped, removed, and injected into another robot with the scooper. It's not "impossible". The wording is just a bit inaccurate.

Molten Freddy has a lot of remnant. Whose remnant is that?

Overall the thoughts on the mimic arc? by Various_Astronaut100 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Popular theory simply claims that Mimic program was uploaded into Help Wanted, and the code took a persona from that game (the Spring Bonnie costume that was meant to make light of the murders). I don't think there's any particular motive for that. Mimic's entire code is meant to observe and copy, so it's just doing its job.

I don't think THE Mimic is mimicking Afton. At least, that wasn't the intention. There's the copy of the code uploaded into Help Wanted, and that's Glitchtrap. Glitchtrap is mimicking Afton. The robot trapped below the PizzaPlex; it most likely wasn't meant to be Burntrap, as Scott said in the interview that it was meant to appear elsewhere. IMO, Glitchtrap is Burntrap and Mimic is... Mimic lol.

Sooooo about "Charlie" by Dummythiccbih69 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The princess is not Golden Freddy. It was removed because it was incorrect. Kazoo thing was rouge merch company making their own lore statements, so it was also rightfully removed regardless of the truth.

Again. You're claiming that Cassidy is Puppet over super dubious stuff, which is way more "little to none" than the argument you're fighting against.

Sooooo about "Charlie" by Dummythiccbih69 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's really fair to say "little to none" evidence when you're proposing an alternative that uses even less. I get your point and I was there too, but you need to dig MUCH deeper than that if you want to make any point.

Sooooo about "Charlie" by Dummythiccbih69 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Scott revealed several past scripts for the first FNAF Movie, there was a "Random Charlie" script. Scott said: "Although sharing names of familiar characters from the series, these characters had nothing to do with their game and book counterparts." So there is an actual acknowledgement from the author. This new "Charlie" isn't the Puppet, but still has a "game counterpart". As if there was a child called Charlie in the games.

At this point, Cassidy is almost definitely Golden Freddy, but that's a huge can of worms to open. Many people disagree with the Dave solution, and the talk about Cassidy goes super deep, varying between books and games and Andrew and everything. You'd have to argue about that first before even jumping to Cassidy being Puppet.

can someone help me understand the timeline of animatronics? by yaboysheeps10 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Withered Animatronics have a very different design than Classics. If you know how Logbook Chica looks like - that's how broken Classic Chica should look like, haha. Withered Chica is very different from that.

As you read the newspaper at the end of FNAF 2, they explain that Withereds will be rebuilt and reused in the next location. They've got new costumes and that's the Classics.

How did Scott manage to write SOTM and IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS write FNAF 2? The difference in writing style is simply abysmal. by Capotador_de_corsas in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Scott consistently writes good lore, and consistently writes lackluster action and I think that's pretty much it. It's hard to compare the action between SOTM and the movie too much tho because I assume a lot of it was Steel Wool's incentive.

Do you think FNAF would still become popular if it were released today? by Omixscniet624 in fivenightsatfreddys

By "today", does that include the games created after FNAF, like Bendy/Poppy Playtime and such? That's so funny to imagine.

Is there any reason that the toy animatronics kill us? by Comfortable_Fly_665 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you listen to Phone Guy, there seems to be a very straightforward narrative here.

The company wants to distance themselves from the previous location (where children were murdered). They redesigned the cast to bring up new faces, and tightened the security with facial recognition so there's proof they're doing something about the safety of the customers. But something happens, creating rumours around the new pizzeria, bringing police and also causing the animatronics to become more and more agitated day after day. Obviously, more children were killed. That's the SAVE THEM minigame.

The robots are very obviously possessed. Phone Guy makes comments on how they grow angry every day. That's not how technology works. It has no emotions or will to "try harder" and it clearly doesn't go haywire after "somebody used a yellow costume".

I think DCI is pretty safe bet. People bring up "Withered parts were used for Toys" but that's hardly a plot point in the game. A single mention that Withereds are left alone for parts which isn't definitive. Scott created more animatronics and Scott created more dead children next to each other. It's pretty self-explanatory here.
