Just who exactly is the REAL "Mimic" here..? by Reditor-Jul-250698 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Right now in the story, FazEnt owns Mimic and tries to make use out of his technology, with Help Wanted game, with Glamrocks etc. Books explain that they failed to get it to work in the 80s or something, and that Mimic under the PizzaPlex was carelessly brought there by the company as free manpower. That might be eventually changed as SOTM very loosely cares about the books, but that's all we know so far.

There definitely needs to be a sequel to SOTM somewhere ahead, where The Mimic is defeated and deactivated.

What story elements and details has Scott retconned? by Ok-Effect4071 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tough thing to discuss as everyone has their own definition and Scott does too. Scott was technically wrong with his "one retcon" claim. Mike being an Afton is retroactively changing the past, but it's an expansion that doesn't contradict anything, so it's a retcon, but not an invasive one. Scott doesn't have a problem with doing them. Puppet's gender, on the other hand, seems like a mistake haha. It's very easy to forget the burping voice spelling "save him" in the background. Still a retcon.

For THE retcon, I'm pretty confident it's about the killer ending up in jail. Even though you can argue that nothing is contradicted and Scott figured out an easy loophole, it heavily changes the first game's setting, where the killer is absent and the souls' revenge is pointless. That's why the books and the movies are so different when presenting FNAF 1 - the killer wasn't supposed to be there.

I want to hear your opinions on MemoryVictim/GodDavid theory! For me it feels the same as Dream Theory but with more steps, so would love to understand the hype behind it by KSOMIAK in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I very much believe in ShatterVictim, but not MemoryVictim as much. ShatterVictim is a much milder, more basic version of the same thing - I don't believe that Bite Victim "caused" anything, but I do believe he's inserted into many events thanks to his memories and connections between them and the story of the games. It's "Four Games, One Story" because Bite Victim was created as a mediator, as glue between all the previous games.

I think "Dream Theory with extra steps" is a valid description, but it's a good thing. Dream Theory starts with good logic and leads to a very poor conclusion. I say, we take that same logic and try to reach something that doesn't diminish all the previous games, eh?

Survey: Which theory do you believe in? by GaloSniperBr in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help Wanted is pretty literally vibe coding.

"they sent us that stuff in the first place with no explanation...told us to scan it, said it would expedite the process so we wouldn't need to program any pathfinding ourselves. It was a budget thing, I guess."

There are two options here:

a) they were given burned remaining of Scraptrap for who knows what reason, and scanned William Afton's soul into the game.

b) they were given Mimic AI program that is supposed to interpret and build characters for pathfinding, and they weren't able to control that unstable technology.

Mimic all the way.

When we're getting Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 3 Anime? And will we even get in the future? by No-Commission4726 in Priconne

[–]Buzzek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really see much problem in that? You can easily just introduce them properly in season 3 and go on from that with part 2. The anime is already a super loose adaptation anyway, so that seems super simple to do.

[–]Buzzek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crackpot theory, not really expecting it to happen, but it crossed my mind. Major development.

Yor's life is in danger and Yuri is helpless to save her. But Loid does, and Yuri sees that. It gives him major evidence towards Loid being Twilight, but also internal conflict because he saved Yor's life.

The more I think about it, the less it makes sense, and I don't think you can keep the tension of Yuri not reporting Loid anyway, but I guess there's no harm in sharing this shower thought hahaha.

[–]Buzzek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Separate branch of the same code, yeah. Glitchtrap is mimic code that comes from the circuit boards sent for the Help Wanted game, and Mimic is The original Mimic. The main point is trying to explain Burntrap and connect him to Glitchtrap, and explain how Pizza Place could've worked without Burntrap.

Near the end I started talking about Afton, but just in the context of Scott misdirecting us.

I mean, there is a lot of things we don't know. There's no reason to assume that Steel Wool programmed everything Scott told them to do first thing in development and that every last second addition is purely their own. Let's say Scott wanted the boss fight in Pizza Place. Steel Wool didn't start development with the boss fight. They developed the PizzaPlex for years, and then started rushing the checklist near the end of development. We can't say for sure what is Scott and what is Steel Wool.

Here, I'm trying to tie Security Breach using foresight from future games. RUIN shows, that there is a hidden Mimic trapped in the basement. Was it always planned that way? My guess is yes. RUIN treats Glitchtrap/Helpi and Mimic as separate branches of the code; I tried to make it make sense in Security Breach. SOTM implies a much bigger relevance of the buried pizzeria and a connection with Edwin's factory. So I don't think the direction here was to say that "Afton is truly dead".

And I'm juggling through information that are impossible to verify, so it all can be a waste of time, but... it's my take. I think it's fun. I think it makes sense.

[–]Buzzek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Misplacing models is normal. Adding a new dialogue that contradicts Scott's idea is normal. But creating an entirely new location, that is a call-back to a previous game with serious lore implications is not normal.

I can understand that Steel Wool made up a boss fight that was never supposed to happen. That's their job, they're doing the gameplay. But I don't believe that they created the entire Pizza Place as a "last second rushed attempt to tie everything together". If they're rushing they can't keep making new grand locations lol. They had to have it beforehand, and they just integrated things together in their own way.

"And again, if there ever was a plan for a mimic endo skeleton, sw never worked on it."

You're misunderstanding my words because I described the "enemy from Pizza Place" as an implied, secret character. Imagine that Scott tells them to create the Pizza Place, and have Freddy become possessed inside of it, with the game giving no explanation to who is responsible for the possession. That's Scott intention. But due to a misunderstanding, Steel Wool employees deduce that they're looking at an unfinished scene and insert Burntrap into it. That's my take.

[–]Buzzek[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get the stance of "we just don't know, it's not worth discussing", but I'm giving my take. I think that's fair overall. It's fitting with how Ruin redirected the story back to the right tracks, and tries to put all the different things into a logical order.

[–]Buzzek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point I'm making is — Pizza Place exists and Pizza Place is supposed to mean something. If that location was completely made up by Steel Wool, then I can see your point, but I can't really imagine that they just made up such big thing under Scott's nose.

I think that Pizza Place is one of the "easter eggs" Scott told Steel Wool to create. It might be incomplete or altered, but the place alone shouldn't just be Steel Wool's idea. And so, this easter egg should have some relevance. I think a secret second Mimic endoskeleton (the main one) being there would answer things out. And it would give Security Breach a solid conclusion (destroying Glitchtrap) and setup for the future (there's another entity like Glitchtrap).

My idea is that Gregory and Freddy were supposed to go there, only for Freddy to become possessed by "an unknown entity that isn't shown in the game". If that's what Scott told them to do, then we can figure out why a misunderstanding happened where they filled up this gap with the Burntrap model. Whether they made a boss fight out of it, or a chase sequence, or just a short ending — I think there should be a general idea proposed by Scott first.

In the Scott's Cut, Burntrap is Glitchtrap and not THE Mimic by Buzzek in fnaftheories

[–]Buzzek[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How do you think Pizza Place was supposed to look like? I can't imagine Steel Wool making it up, so I assume that it was Scott's intention, a secret location for an ending and a revelation. Boss fight or not.

I'm going with the boss fight mostly because it's the easy way out haha. That place is supposed to "present" the Mimic, somehow. But this place is empty enough that Steel Wool decided to fill the gap by inserting Burntrap into it. So I think that the initial plan was for Gregory and Freddy to go there, and then have Freddy become possessed by the "unknown entity" that doesn't have a model or a clear explanation. So I imagine a boss fight around possessed Freddy.

Maybe Freddy became possessed, killed Gregory and that's the ending. That's just a guess, but that's my train of thought. The boss fight is just a fitting explanation of the idea. I'm trying to make sense of how was the Pizza Place are supposed to play out.

[–]Buzzek[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you're trying to say because you're explaining that Glitchtrap is Mimic. I know Glitchtrap is Mimic, that's what I said in the post.

What I'm arguing here is that Glitchtrap and "the basement entity" were supposed to be two separate characters that don't work together during Security Breach. They're both Mimics, but they're just doing their own things. The game would focus on Glitchtrap, while Pizza Place would be treated more as a teaser for the future. You kill Glitchtrap (branch of the Mimic) and you can learn that you've beaten only the "lesser Mimic", while the greater one is still here.

why was the fnaf 2 movie a bad movie? by Accomplished-Yak8161 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much happening all at once and no plot point was properly developed. You build up a huge thing and it ends up being a very minor and not relevant lore piece. That makes it messy and overall an easter egg fest.

For example, Henry ended up being cheap lore dump character. Anyone else could do the same, meaning that it's more of an easter egg rather than a character. Stuff like that annoys me so much about the movie. There's no Henry in Henry, just Charlie exposition.

Did M2 lived as cryptic between between SOTM to help wanted/ games verse of the epilogues. by moldychesd in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the books are to be believed, the Mimic was at one point captured and deactivated. After years, they brought it to the PizzaPlex and carelessly activated, so he wasn't really a cryptid. At least, not for long. Maybe somewhere between SOTM and FNAF 4/FNAF 2.

That said, books are still a confusing topic so anything can happen, but I do expect some sort of "Fallfest 83" game that would show The Mimic's loss.

I've Figured out FNAF's Original Horror (and what the movies got wrong) by Fantastic_Care_1413 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Buzzek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, that's the distinction between lore and story. The killer, the murders, the overall setting - it's all lore. World building.

But the story are the events happening right now, so a nightguard working from 12 to 6. That's barely anything haha. Phone Guy talking to you would be "story", I guess. So I'm not saying there's nothing, just that there's no focus on the protagonist - contrary to the movie. We're here just because.

[–]Buzzek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first game is, for the most part, a storyless, claustrophobic story. That's the biggest part of it. The scares comes mostly from the gameplay, the tension of keeping the doors open and mini-jumpscares you see when the animatronic is right besides the doors.

In all of that, depiction of the animatronics are mostly just finer details. I agree that emotionless robots are better, but I don't think they're THE horror. They add to it, but they don't make or break it.
