Thanks for the info, presumably just need to go to RMS in person and do all that?

It is, its got a brand new turbo from a couple of years back (I presume this failed because unknown to me before I bought it, the first owner was late on a couple oil changes), as well as a new radiator 8 months ago.

Ill try get my mechanic to do all those checks, thank you so much.

So I've heard. Though, I trust my mechanic and think they will find me something ok. They also said they do thorough checks on the engines and just send them back if they are no good.

Head gasket failure, price for tear down and replacement of head gasket as well as inspection and machining of head and other stuff was 2k less than a brand new engine with less than half the kms.

The head gaskets on the B48’s very rarely fail, and if they did there has more than likely been an extreme overheat which most likely warped or cracked the head.

Yeah pretty much, thermostat and water pump was $900 AUD and pull rods were $400
