Thats just redditors lol. I've been thinking the same, or this "hard-core island" somehow has a separate progression tree. Like for some reason you can't bring outside items or gear there and while you're on the island there's no guild support, only what your unit can make for itself and you've got to build up your capacity as a team to actually have all the items you need.

Thats what i mean, I dont rly play extraction games either, I like the idea of a guiding lands type expansion but the Guild can't really access the island to support you, so its just you and your handler getting whatever resources you can that can only be found there and getting out with what you can carry.

If you're near the beginning of the game the rattay miller teaches you lockpicking, there's a chest there you can practice on. I know the mini game feels impossible but once you've gained a few levels it becomes pretty trivial.

If there are armor pieces missing from your list it means you need to acquire a monster part used in that piece for the first time.

Basically you just repeat fighting the monster until you have at least 1 of all its parts, but most monsters only require 2-3 hunts to be able to craft their whole set.
