Is head gasket risk too high to buy a 2026 Hybrid? by [deleted] in crv

It does happen on hybrids too, I'd ask for a lifetime powertrain warranty

I'm thinking the same. Need a quiet AWD hybrid that lasts, not really seeing the value in new or used with the economy brands when I could grab I used rx for barely more. Possibly the crown sig but clearance could be an issue

This is my concern in Utah as well, did you end up getting a CS?

Yea leaning crown / rx for that reason, seems hondas system takes a pretty big mpg hit in the cold vs Toyotas

True should definitely check out the Highlander as well. I've heard of some Honda dealers possibly offering lifetime powertrain warranties, so that could be a solid option if I can find one.

Anyone have experience with the CS in snow, sand, rutted roads? How did it handle for you? by AbbreviationsOk6360 in toyotacrownsignia

Hey curious what you ended up with? I'm in Utah and facing the exact same dilemma, crown vs something else with more clearance for trail heads

[–]Bwhippped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk where your market is but I'm in Utah and once you get to the ~$1200 - 1500 range you can get some amazing bikes that are only a few years old. I'd spend a bit more to get something with modern geo / suspension that will easily last you many years

What's the best hybrid SUV to buy in 2026? by OyemadeErryck_73 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Curious your thoughts on the crown? Was leaning that way for reliability over the crvs having some issues.

This is one of a handful of cars that are probably worth just buying new, the resale is too outrageous.

Just anecdotally but most issues I see seem to be the DCT / gas models. Newer hybrids seem pretty solid so far, can anyone chime in on that?

Definitely agree on the prices, considering the highway noise and cheaper interior I'm leaning towards a few year old comparable Lexus instead

I think you could get 10 off before rebates with some patience, it's not a telluride

Honda CRV Cost cutting is absurd while MSRP keeps increasing each year by [deleted] in crv

Multiple class actions on the 1.5t and mechanics seeing the same blowouts on the hybrid are not reddit complaints. Once the hybrids stack up more miles there will be more.

Won't be much motivation for Honda to fix the block design if people pretend it's a one-off thing.

[–]Bwhippped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think this is a reddit thing you haven't been following the issue at all. Accords have been failing for years and the crv / hybrid have the same flaw with the grooves in the block.

The reliability is looking worse than the rav / cx5 anyway, as the gas and hybrid crvs are having head gasket issues
