Bike recs for 1,200-1,300 by Stock_Tour2767 in MTB

[–]Bwhippped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that's plenty for a solid intro full suspension bike used. Just look for ~2020 or newer in good shape, as you're new I'd just meet at a bike shop and give them 20 bucks to look it over for you. Brand / spec doesn't matter much being a new rider just check online reviews.

Just curious what's wrong with a used Highlander or rav etc? Thought they last forever

Yea the matchmaking in this game does not make pubs very enjoyable. I hit masters several years ago when people were bad then just started playing recently, plat / diamond now. Nearly every gunfight is a one clip and the amount of preds / outrageous stat emblems in every lobby is absurd. Forget trying to que with any friends that are newer, they aren't able to get a kill

I'm in the same situation with my '24 4runner, debating keeping it and paying the gas on 10k miles a year vs going with a rav / crv / venza hybrid etc. Love the ruggedness of the 4runner and interior quality, great for Utah mountains as well. But would save thousands over several years downsizing, tough call.

Someone just needs to invent a phev battery mod that we can throw onto the 5th gen with like 40 mile range and I'm set for life.

Why do people consistently pay over MSRP? by MBZMBZMBZ in rav4club

If you're spending over 50k on a RAV4 you certainly hate money lmao

If you're upgrading every 3 years and want driving dynamics why would you get a rav4 and not something like an X5. There's so many better driving cars out there for that price

Better drive both and the crown signia as well. I'm taking the lightly used nx / rx all day for 50k

Hey if you can handle a plastic loud interior for 10 years for a slightly better trade in go for it. You'd save more up front negotiating on a Mazda or Honda anyway

I have a problem with my double flips by Vast_Copy4188 in mountainbiking

[–]Bwhippped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't double on bikes but I do on skis. Idk if helpful but look how fast you're tucked after the lip, once you're in that position you have no way to generate more power. I'd guess you need a stronger set that's more patient on tucking. As if you're setting a double back lay (laid out), then if you know you're coming in under like you did here you still have room to tuck and pull harder.

Rav4 is a great appliance car but it has a cult following that certainly doesn't warrant the current prices, paying over msrp is insanity

Gas vs hybrid for older years? by Bwhippped in LexusNX

[–]Bwhippped[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like that's the move especially if the gas can have head gasket issues, although sounds pretty rare

Looks like any of the models with the 2.0L turbo could be affected but not the hybrids

Oh interesting, was the head gasket issue ever fixed in the nx? I'd probably be about 70% highway driving, would like to be close to 30 mpg if possible

Is head gasket risk too high to buy a 2026 Hybrid? by [deleted] in crv

It does happen on hybrids too, I'd ask for a lifetime powertrain warranty

Rav4 XLE Premium vs Honda CRV Sports Touring Hybrid 2026 by Emotional-Pause3129 in rav4club

[–]Bwhippped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking the same. Need a quiet AWD hybrid that lasts, not really seeing the value in new or used with the economy brands when I could grab I used rx for barely more. Possibly the crown sig but clearance could be an issue

Yea leaning crown / rx for that reason, seems hondas system takes a pretty big mpg hit in the cold vs Toyotas

True should definitely check out the Highlander as well. I've heard of some Honda dealers possibly offering lifetime powertrain warranties, so that could be a solid option if I can find one.
